Favourite Spurs moment?
70 The first game of the 2021/22 season against
Manchester City. Not only was it my first game at
the stadium but it was the first time we had a full
capacity crowd following the pandemic. Getting
the season off to a winning start against the
champions and seeing the atmosphere that the
stadium can produce after a challenging couple
of years for everybody was incredible. A 3-1 win
against West Ham United in a feisty London derby
is high on the list too!
Favourite area of the Stadium?
There are so many favourites within the stadium
and everyone’s matchday preferences vary, but
one area that I find really unique is The Stratus. The
whole customer journey is something that I would

ANOTHER GLORY NIGHT

It was 50 years ago this week that we achieved another club first as
we lifted the inaugural UEFA Cup to become the first British team to
win two different European trophies.

Tuesday will mark the exact day half a century ago that we drew 1-1
with Wolves at White Hart Lane to secure a 3-2 aggregate victory in the
1972 UEFA Cup Final, to add to the European Cup Winners’ Cup we lifted
nine years earlier.

Holding the trophy on the shoulders of Pat Jennings and Mike England
is Alan Mullery, our club captain who scored the crucial goal against
Wolves in the second leg. A couple of months earlier, Bill Nicholson had
sent him on loan to Fulham to help him recover from a pelvic injury but an
injury crisis had seen Mullery recalled to the club.

Not only did he score the decisive goal in the final, he also smashed
home from 20 yards in the semi-final, second leg against AC Milan in the
San Siro to help book our place in the all-England showdown with Wolves.

Martin Chivers had been the star of the first game of the final at
Molineux with both goals in our 2-1 win and in the N17 return, Mullery
put us in a commanding position when he bravely headed home a Martin
Peters free-kick on the half hour.

Wolves responded and made it 1-1 on the night through David
Wagstaffe shortly before the interval, but we defended stoutly for the
rest of the game to ensure another piece of European silverware.
