DOWNHOLE TOOLS The Circulating Subs have been designed to achieve increased mud circulation by placement in the B.H.A., either above the bit or down hole motor to pump materials in case of lost circulation Dropping a chrome steel ball down the drill string and then engaging the mud pumps. On application of 3000 psi fluid pressure, the ball shears the pin holding the sleeve in its primary position. The sleeve and pin drop into the secondary position opening the three sub ports and diverting the downhole flow. The Circulating Subs are manufactured from AISI 4145H Modified material fully heat treated to give 285-341 BHN and are available in the same nominal diameters to customers own specifications. SSTTEEEELL DDRRIILLLL CCOOLLLLAARRSS 1. Isolate circulating sub 2. Remove ball (if still housed in sub) 3. Select Allen Key and remove pressure plug 4. Remove top half of shear pin and discard 5. Retract sleeve until remaining half of shear pin in sleeve is visible. Remove and discard 6. Slide sleeve out of sub bore 7. Remove the 4 ‘O’ rings and discard 8. Check condition of sleeve and ball for raised edges and physical damage 9. If ball and / or sleeve is damaged replace with new ones 10. Check conditions of sub bore and drilled tapped hole – remove burrs if required 11. Fit 4 new ‘O’ rings onto checked or renewed sleeve – grease O.D. 12. Grease sub I.D. thoroughly 13. Slide sleeve into sub, ensure correct insertion (i.e. counter bored end of sleeve first) until the widest groove is visible through the drilled and tapped hole 14. Select new shear pin – check for sharp edges, de-burr if necessary and position in sub body 15. Select Allen Key and pressure plug (use existing plug if undamaged) and screw into body Re-Dress Procedures

The 3mm grain size ideal for soft formation drilling. In this hard-facing, trapezoidal tungsten carbide inserts are held in a sintered carbide nickel bronze matrix. This will give a greater depth of carbide coverage – ideal for high deviation drilling in abrasive formations. Metal Powder spray is used to fuse the tungsten carbides. This spray deposit is ideal for abrasive formations. Recommended for non magnetic stabilizers. Fused tungsten carbide in a nickel chrome boron matrix designed for oxy-acetylene torch application and available for components subject to high levels of wear. Flexicoy has pure nickel core surrounded by fused tungsten carbide and alloy elements for the matrix. Diamond inserts and tungsten carbide inserts are set in a powder & Technosphere spray deposit – ideal for very abrasive formations.

This power-torque is designed for handling small diameter tools in extremely low torque applications or for high torque requirements up to 200,000 foot pounds (275kNm) with larger tools. Loading and unloading the workpiece is aided by built-in “rolling ball” type support jacks and a powered, movable tailstock. SERVICE EQUIPMENT & SUPPLIES SSHHOOPP EEQQUUIIPPMMEENNTT Supplies a complete line of float valves, repair kits, and puller assemblies to accommodate a wide range of drilling situations and operating conditions. These Drill Pipe Float Valves provide added blowout protection at the bottom of the drill-string, prevent flow-back when joints are added, and keep cuttings out of the drill-pipe to prevent bit plugging while making connections. Note: It is recommended that multiple Drill Pipe Float Valves run in the same string be separated CONSTRUCTED FOR LONG LIFE Supplied Drill Pipe Float Valves are made of low carbon steel suitable for most applications including H2S conditions. The valves are designed and constructed with a minimum number of parts-all highly resistant to wear to give long and trouble-free service. EASILY SERVICED Normally, the only service required is replacement of the valve seal. This can be accomplished in second with-out special tools. The valve guide at the lower end of the valve stem is simply raised, compressing the spring and allowing for removal of the entire inner portion of the valve. SVP supplied Drill Pipe Float Valves are easily installed by simply lubricating the side seals and sliding them into the cavity in the float sub or drilled out drill collar. Care must be taken in positioning the float valve in the drilling string. If it is placed too far from the top of the hole and the pipe is not filled while running in, hydrostatic pressure could cause damage to the drill pipe or the float valve. If the pipe is filled while running in, the float valve can be placed just above the bit, if desired.
