Archery NZ Match Play Test Event, November 28th 2010
Hosted by Auckland Archery Club
INVITATION TO ALL ARCHERY NZ AFFILIATED ARCHERS
Introduction:
FITA have made several important changes for archery competition formats. The new Set System, the
Compound Round, and Mixed Teams were introduced. In order to provide „hands-on‟ training in the new format
for both judges and archers, the Archery NZ Judge Commission will run a training session, comprising a series of
individual and team shoots, open to both compound and recurve, senior and junior.
Venue: The Auckland Archery Club has kindly agreed to host the event on Sunday 28th November.
Start Time: 9 am (please remember to bring your own lunch and drinks; Auckland Archery Club may also run a
sausage sizzle and tea and coffee will be available).
Entry details:
Entry is open to all Archery NZ affiliated archers. As it is a training event for both archers and judges there will be
no fee, but it also means that it is not a registered tournament and therefore no records can be claimed. We will
be testing the new set system for Match Play and hope to run both individual and team rounds. We will probably
need to mix and match compound and recurve, senior and junior, but where possible we will try to arrange
appropriate groups.
If you wish to take part please register your entry by November 19th with Ann Powley, Judge Administrator. Entry
details will be posted on the Archery NZ website.

The FITA World Target Championships will be held in Torino Italy from the 2nd to the 10th July 2011. ANZ have set the
following qualifying criteria.
Scores:

Senior Women 1285 Senior Women 1340
The four scores at the above level are required to be shot within the period from 1st January 2010 to 1st March 2011.

Submitting the above scores does not mean automatic selection for the team.

Congratulations to Ben, Kevin, Austen and Neil who
set NZ records for their respective divisions and other
archers who shot personal best scores. Saturday lunch
was provided, a barbecue which went down well as it

Sunday saw a few less archers compete in a special

--- And she did!
In her article in Issue 499 (May/June) Linda Lainchbury
said that she was off to Dahn in Germany to bring back a

True to her word she did. This made it her 2nd world title in

In the AFFU Freestyle Unlimited - Adult - female division,
she was first out of 29 competitors beating Inge Enthovan
