Story

It was on a warm, auspicious summer day when Cecil asked her friend,
Layla, to go to an antique shop with her to help her find some antiques for her
collection. This was not an arduous task as Layla loved to shop wherever and
whenever.
As they left Cecil’s house, they were not able to access the route they were
going to take to the antique shop because the road had turned into a precipice from
the flooding of the storm earlier that week.
Cecil is known for her road rage and decided to revile the workers that were
trying to fix the road. Layla couldn’t believe she was actually intrepid enough to
call them such horrid names, even though the workers didn’t seem the slightest bit
daunted by her hateful words. Layla told Cecil they could just take another route,
hoping it would rectify her road rage situation. Layla, knowing Cecil as being
pompous, figured she would drive right through barricades just to prove the road
workers wrong.
Once Cecil and Layla made it to the antique shop, Cecil immediately saw an
urn that she thought would look lovely on her mantle. Layla reprieved her thoughts
for a moment by showing her that it had a small crack in the bottom of the urn.
Cecil did not seem to care and said it was “her fated antique piece”. Although
Layla was more biased towards the Roman painting as she was originally from
Italy, Cecil said she would feel pliant if she followed what Layla wanted over her
own instincts. Layla loved the painting so much, but she looked at the price tag and
was not able to afford the painting. She thought about about absconding with the
painting but was to afraid to be charged with larceny...even though the town was
under anarchy. She also thought about trying to hoodwink the owner into a cheaper
price as the owner was an elderly lady, but she felt bad just thinking about it.
Cecil decided to purchase the urn, Layla helped her disentangle the urn from
the case it was in. Once Cecil and Layla returned to the house, they realized the urn
felt like there was something in it, so they decided to look inside. Cecil shrieked in
horror, “It’s someone’s incinerated body!”. Layla laughed and said, “at least it is
inanimate!”.
