[02-07] 실의에 빠진 제자

“우리는 이 사람이 이스라엘을 속량할 자라고 바랐노라 이뿐
아니라 이 일이 된 지가 사흘째요”(누가복음24:21)

제자들이 한 말은 다 사실이었지만
거기서 유추한 결론은 잘못된 것이었
습니다. 무엇이건 우리를 실의에 빠지
게 하는 것은 항상 그릇된 것입니다.
지금 실망하고 있거나 우울해 한다면
그것은 내 탓이지 하나님이나 다른
누구의 책임이 아닙니다. 하나님도 다
른 누군가도 원망할 이유가 없습니다.

Spiritual Dejection

to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, today is
the third day since these things happened. —Luke

Every fact that the disciples stated
was right, but the conclusions they
drew from those facts were wrong.
Anything that has even a hint of
dejection spiritually is always
wrong. If I am depressed or
burdened, I am to blame, not God
or anyone else.

낙심은 둘 중의 어떤 경우에도 발생
하게 됩니다. 죄의 정욕을 만족시켰을
때도 오며, 죄의 정욕을 만족시키지
못하였을 때도 옵니다. 정욕이란 내가
원하는 것을 당장에 취하려는 성향입
니다. 영적인 정욕은 기도를 응답하시
는 하나님을 구하기보다 기도 응답
만을 당장 요구합니다.

Dejection stems from one of two
sources— I have either satisfied a
lust or I have not had it satisfied.
In either case, dejection is the
result. Lust means “I must have it
at once.” Spiritual lust causes me
to demand an answer from God,
instead of seeking God Himself
who gives the answer.

하나님께서 뭔가를 행하시길 기대
했나요? (응답을 기다린지) 오늘이
벌써 삼일째입니다. 그럼에도 하나님
께서는 아무 것도 행하지 않으셨습니
다. 따라서 낙심하고 하나님을 원망하
는 것이 마땅한 걸까요?

What have I been hoping or trusting 
God would do? Is today “the third da
y” and He has still not done what I e
xpected? Am I therefore justified in b
eing dejected and in blaming God? 

하나님께서 내 기도에 응답하셔야
한다는 고집은 정도에서 벗어난 것입
니다. 기도의 의미는 기도의 응답을
붙드는 것이 아니라 하나님을 붙드는
것입니다. 낙심의 상태에서는 몸이 평
안할 수 없습니다. 낙심은 병든 증거
입니다. 영적으로도 마찬가지입니다.
낙심은 영적으로 잘못된 것입니다. 낙
심의 책임은 언제나 내게 있습니다.

The purpose of prayer is that we get 
ahold of God, not of the answer. It is 
impossible to be well physically and t
o be dejected, because dejection is a si
gn of sickness. This is also true spiritu
ally. Dejection spiritually is wrong, an
d we are always to blame for it

우리는 하늘로부터 내려오는 환상
을 기다립니다. 하나님의 능력의 증거
인 지진과 천둥을 기다립니다. 우리가
실망과 우울함에 빠지는 이유가 바로
우리가 이러한 것을 구하기 때문입니
다. 우리는 내 주변의 평범한 일들과
사람들 가운데 하나님이 계시다는 사
실을 꿈에도 생각하지 못합니다.

We look for visions from heaven and 
for earth-shaking events to see God’s
 power. Even the fact that we are deje
cted is proof that we do this. Yet we 
never realize that all the time God is a
t work in our everyday events and in 
the people around us.

만약에 우리가 단순하게 순종하고,
단순하게 우리에게 맡겨진 책임을 다
한다면, 우리는 우리 가까운 곳에서
행하시는 주님을 보게 될 것입니다.
가장 놀라운 하나님의 계시는 예수
그리스도의 신성이 평범한 것들 속에
서 나타난다는 점입니다. 가장 위대한
신성은 가장 가까운 일상에서 현실이
됩니다.

 If we will only obey, and do the task
 that He has placed closest to us, we 
will see Him. One of the most amazin
g revelations of God comes to us whe
n we learn that it is in the everyday th
ings of life that we realize the magnifi
cent deity of Jesus Christ.
