“예배”

(창 12:8) 거기서 벧엘 동편 산으로 옮겨 장막을 치니 서는
벧엘이요 동은 아이라 그가 그곳에서 여호와를 위하여 단을

쌓고 여호와의 이름을 부르더니

예배란 하나님께서 우리에게 주신
가장 좋은 것을 다시 하나님께 드리
는 것입니다. 당신이 가진 최선의 것
으로 무엇을 하겠습니까? 하나님의
축복을 받을 때마다 사랑의 선물로
하나님께 그 축복을 다시 돌려드리십
시오.

Worship

He moved from there to the mountain east
of Bethel, and he pitched his tent with Bethel

on the west and Ai on the east; there he
built an altar to the Lord and called on the

name of the Lord. —Genesis 12:8

Worship is giving God the best

that He has given you. Be careful

what you do with the best you

have. Whenever you get a blessing

from God, give it back to Him as

a love-gift. Take time to meditate

before God and offer the blessing

back to Him in a deliberate act of

worship.

광야에 내린 만나를 집안에 쌓아 놓
았을 때 이내 썩어버리고 말았습니다.
마찬가지로 당신 자신을 위해서 하나
님이 주신 복을 움켜쥐고 있으면 당
신을 영적으로 썩어 시들어 지게 만
들 것입니다. 하나님은 영적 선물을
당신 자신을 위해서 당신이 독점하고
있는 것을 싫어하십니다. 당신이 받은
영적 선물은 다시 하나님의 손으로
들어가서 다른 사람들에게 나누어 줄
수 있는 복이 되어야 하기 때문입니
다.

If you hoard it for yourself, it will
turn into spiritual dry rot, as the
manna did when it was hoarded
(see Exodus 16:20). God will never
allow you to keep a spiritual
blessing completely for yourself. It
must be given back to Him so that
He can make it a blessing to
others.

벧엘은 하나님과, 아이는 세상과 교통
하는 것을 상징합니다. 아브라함은 이
양편의 중간에 장막을 쳤습니다. 하나
님을 향한 우리의 공적인 활동에 대
한 진정한 가치는 우리가 주님과 얼
마나 깊은 개인적인 교제를 가지고
있는가에 달려 있습니다. 조급하면 일
을 그르치기 마련입니다. 우리에게는
하나님을 경배할 수 있는 충분한 시
간이 있습니다. 물론 하나님과 조용한
시간을 갖는다고 여러 날을 낭비하는
것은 또 하나의 함정이 될 수도 있습
니다.

Bethel is the symbol of fellowship
with God; Ai is the symbol of the
world. Abram “pitched his tent”
between the two. The lasting value
of our public service for God is
measured by the depth of the
intimacy of our private times of
fellowship and oneness with Him.
Rushing in and out of worship is
wrong every time— there is always
plenty of time to worship God.
Days set apart for quiet can be a
trap, detracting from the need to
have daily quiet time with God.

그래서 우리는 아무리 소란한 세상이
라도 하나님과 늘 조용한 시간을 가
질 수 있도록 예배의 장막을 세워 두
어야 합니다.

영적 생활에는 세 가지 단계, 즉
경배, 기다림, 사역이 별도로 구분되
어 있는 것이 아닙니다. 어떤 이들은
개구리처럼 높이 뛰어 오르기 만을
좋아합니다. 경배에서 기다림으로, 기
다림에서 사역으로 껑충껑충 뛰어넘
으려고 시도합니다. 그러나 하나님의
아이디어는 세 가지가 함께 가야 한
다는 것입니다.

That is why we must “pitch our
tents” where we will always have
quiet times with Him, however
noisy our times with the world
may be. There are not three levels
of spiritual life— worship, waiting,
and work. Yet some of us seem to
jump like spiritual frogs from
worship to waiting, and from
waiting to work. God’s idea is that
the three should go together as
one.

주님의 생애에서 이 세 가지 단계는
늘 완벽한 하모니를 이루어 같이 진
행되어 나갔습니다. 주님은 서두르지
도 조급하지도 않으셨습니다. 이 세
가지는 단번에 이루어질 수 없는 하
나의 훈련입니다.

They were always together in the
life of our Lord and in perfect
harmony. It is a discipline that
must be developed; it will not
happen overnight.
