이제는 너희가 믿느냐

“우리가 지금에야 주께서 모든 것을 아시고 또 사람의 물음을
기다리시지 않는 줄 아나이다 이로써 하나님께로부터

나오심을 우리가 믿사옵나이다 예수께서 대답하시되​이제는
너희가 믿느냐”(요한복음16:30~31)

“우리는 이제 믿습니다.” 그러나 예
수님은 정말 믿느냐고 물으시며, “너
희가 나를 혼자 둘 때가 오리라”고
말씀하십니다. 많은 사역자가 예수 그
리스도를 혼자 버려두고는 의무감이
나 자신의 생각에 따라 사역을 합니
다. 그러는 이유는 예수님의 부활하신
생명이 그 안에 없기 때문입니다.

“Do You Now Believe?”

"By this we believe…." Jesus answered them, "Do you now
believe?" —John 16:30-31

“Now we believe….” But Jesus
asks, “Do you…? Indeed the hour
is coming…that you…will leave Me
alone” (John 16:31-32). Many
Christian workers have left Jesus
Christ alone and yet tried to serve
Him out of a sense of duty, or
because they sense a need as a
result of their own discernment.
The reason for this is actually the
absence of the resurrection life of
Jesus.

우리의 영혼은 하나님과의 친밀한 교
제에서 벗어나 자신의 종교적 이해에
의존하려는 습성이 있습니다. 이것은
일부러 죄를 범하는 것은 아니기에
형벌이 따르지는 않습니다. 그러나 예
수 그리스도를 바르게 깨닫지 못함으
로써 혼돈과 슬픔과 어려움이 발생합
니다. 나중에 그는 이를 깨닫고 부끄
러움과 후회에 빠집니다.

Our soul has gotten out of
intimate contact with God by
leaning on our own religious
understanding (see Proverbs 3:5-6).
This is not deliberate sin and there
is no punishment attached to it.
But once a person realizes how he
has hindered his understanding of
Jesus Christ, and caused
uncertainties, sorrows, and
difficulties for himself, it is with
shame and remorse that he has to
return.

우리는 훨씬 더 깊게 예수님의 부
활 생명을 의지해야 할 필요가 있습
니다. 또한 만사를 주님과 연결 짓는
습관을 길러야 합니다. 그러나 우리는
쉽게 상식적인 결정을 내리고 하나님
께서 그 결정들을 축복하실 것을 부
탁합니다. 그러나 하나님은 그렇게 하
실 수 없습니다. 그 이유는 상식적인
결정은 주님의 영역에 속하지 않으며
영적 실체와 차단되어 있기 때문입니
다.

We need to rely on the
resurrection life of Jesus on a
much deeper level than we do
now. We should get in the habit
of continually seeking His counsel
on everything, instead of making
our own commonsense decisions
and then asking Him to bless
them. He cannot bless them; it is
not in His realm to do so, and
those decisions are severed from
reality.

만일 의무감으로 사역을 하면 우리는
예수 그리스도와 경쟁이 되는 또 다
른 기준을 세우는 것입니다. 우리는 '
우쭐한 사람'이 되어 말합니다. "자,
이 문제에 대해서는 내가 이렇게 저
렇게 해봐야지." 이와 같이 우리는 예
수님의 부활 생명 대신에 우리의 의
무감을 보좌에 앉힙니다.

If we do something simply out of
a sense of duty, we are trying to
live up to a standard that competes
with Jesus Christ. We become a
prideful, arrogant person, thinking
we know what to do in every
situation. We have put our sense
of duty on the throne of our life,
instead of enthroning the
resurrection life of Jesus.

그러나 우리는 양심의 빛이나 의무감
으로 살라고 부름을 받은 것이 아닙
니다. 주께서 빛 가운데 계심같이 우
리도 빛 가운데서 걸으라고 부름을
받은 것입니다. 우리가 의무감으로 뭔
가를 할 때는 그 일을 왜 해야 하는
지 따질 수 있습니다. 그러나 주께
순종하기 위해 무엇을 할 때는 논쟁
하는 것이 불가능합니다. 바로 이러한
이유 때문에 성도들은 쉽게 조롱을
받습니다.

We are not told to “walk in the
light” of our conscience or in the
light of a sense of duty, but to
“walk in the light as He is in the
light…” (1 John 1:7). When we do
something out of a sense of duty,
it is easy to explain the reasons for
our actions to others. But when we
do something out of obedience to
the Lord, there can be no other
explanation— just obedience. That
is why a saint can be so easily
ridiculed and misunderstood.
