주님은 나의 최고봉 3일차 “구름과 흑암”

구름과 흑암이 그를 둘렀고 의와 공평이
그의 보좌의 기초로다”(시편97:2)

하나님의 영으로 거듭나지 않은 사람
은 예수님의 가르침이 단순하다고 말
할 것입니다. 그러나 성령으로 세례를
받으면 구름과 흑암이 예수님께 둘려
있는 것을 봅니다. 예수 그리스도의
가르침을 가까이 접하면 이 사실을 알
게 됩니다. 그분의 가르침을 이해하는
유일한 가능성은 우리 안에 계시는 성
령님의 빛입니다.

Clouds and darkness surround Him… —
Psalm 97:2

A person who has not been born again
by the Spirit of God will tell you that
the teachings of Jesus are simple. But
when he is baptized by the Holy Spirit,
he finds that “clouds and darkness
surround Him….” When we come into
close contact with the teachings of Jesus
Christ we have our first realization of
this. The only possible way to have full
understanding of the teachings of Jesus is
through the light of the Spirit of God
shining inside us.

부적절한 친밀함으로 하나님께 나아가
거나 상투적인 종교 관습들을 타파하
지 않는다면, 하나님의 임재 속에 있
다고 할 수 없을 것입니다. 경망스럽
고 불손한 태도로 하나님 앞에 나아가
는 사람은 예수 그리스도를 만나지 못
한 것입니다. 예수 그리스도가 무엇을
하시는지 깨닫는 엄청난 기쁨과 자유
를 체험한 후에야, 우리는 꿰뚫을 수
없는 어둠에 싸여 있는 그분이 누구이
신지 알 수 있습니다.

If we have never had the experience
of taking our casual, religious shoes
off our casual, religious feet—
getting rid of all the excessive
informality with which we approach
God— it is questionable whether we
have ever stood in His presence.
The people who are flippant and
disrespectful in their approach to
God are those who have never been
introduced to Jesus Christ. Only
after the amazing delight and liberty
of realizing what Jesus Christ does,
comes the impenetrable “darkness”
of realizing who He is.

예수님은 말씀하셨습니다. “내가 너희
에게 이른 말이 영이요 생명이라”(요
한복음6:63). 한때 성경은 우리에게
그저 구름과 흑암 같은 추상적인 말씀
들이었지만, 특별한 상황 속에서 주님
이 다시 말씀해 주실 때, 그 말씀들은
영과 생명이 되는 것입니다. 하나님은
환상과 꿈이 아닌 말씀으로 우리에게
보여 주십니다. 사람이 하나님께 가까
이 나아가는 것은 말씀이라는 가장 단
순한 수단을 통해서 가능합니다.

Jesus said, “The words that I speak
to you are spirit, and they are life”
(John 6:63). Once, the Bible was
just so many words to us —
“clouds and darkness”— then,
suddenly, the words become spirit
and life because Jesus re-speaks
them to us when our circumstances
make the words new. That is the
way God speaks to us; not by
visions and dreams, but by words.
When a man gets to God, it is by
the most simple way— words.
