About a hundred years ago, there was a big epidemic in Pak Nam Pho called cholera and many people died. Chinese people in Pak Nam Pho took “Hoo-Paper”, the mystic symbol that was written in paper, from the shrine. They burnt it, put the paper ash in the water and let the patients drank it. It was amazing that they got well, and this story was well-known to others. After that, Chinese people in Pak Nam Pho established the shrine for Chao Phor – Chao Mae and celebrate for every angels by marching around Pak Nam Pho Market in Chinese New Year’s period. This tradition festival has performed until nowadays for good luck and business progression. There are many processions in this ceremony like Lion Dance, Eng - Kor Pha Boo, Lo - Kow, beauty angels and Chao Mae Kuan Im. The most exciting show is Dragon Dance.
