Sam frowned, but went
down the stairs to eat his
eggs and toast.

Sam finished eating quickly.
As he ran to his room to get
dressed Dad said, “Don’t
forget to wear a warm coat.
It is sunny outside, but it is still
cold.” “I know,” said Sam.

When Sam got to the
playground, he could hear the
loud noise of many voices.
There was a big crowd of
people there. It was mostly
kids. They all had on their
warm coats like Sam.

playhouse. He joined him
there. “Don’t you think you are
too big for the playhouse?”
asked Sam. “I am here with
Pat. But it doesn’t matter
how big I am. The playhouse is
still fun!” said James.

for some time. Then they
joined Pat in the sandbox.
There was a big mound of
sand with lots of sand toys.
“I don’t think we are too big for
the sandbox. Do you?” asked
Sam. “No way. We can enjoy
the sandbox if we are big or
small!” said James.

Lots of people made their way
out to the playground that
day. Sam, James and Pat
went home for lunch. Then
they went back and stayed
