Acknowledgement

Thanks Alhamdulillah and the highest gratitude is extended to the divine because
with his grace I was able to complete the assignment for the subject of English
Effective Communication (GEEC1052) successfully.

With this opportunity, I am very pleased to present a million thanks to Mrs. Sarah
binti Abd Wahab, as a Lecturer in the subject of English Effective Communication for
having placed her full trust in me to fulfill the assignment given.

I would also like to thank all the parties who did not stop in their efforts to help
complete this task, especially to my lecturer Madam Sarah Binti Abd Wahab for his
discretion in providing guidance throughout the course of this task. Apart from that, I
would also like to thank my comrades-in-arms for their help and cooperation in
realizing the effort to complete this task successfully.

This speech is also addressed to all parties who have been involved in the
success of this task either directly or indirectly. All the help they have given is very
much appreciated because without their help and support all these tasks may not be
possible.

HOW HELPING AT HOME DEVELOPS YOUR CHARACTER

Housework is a job done to tidy and clean the house and outdoor
areas. Women are the ones who always do the housework compared to
men because women will often take the duties of being at home while
men will earn a living for their wives and children at home. Doing
housework is not easy to do because there are several reasons and
problems that need to be taken into consideration, such as time
constraints. The time taken to do all the housework will take a long time
to complete. Therefore, we see that doing the housework is rather easy
and can be underestimated especially by someone who has a job other
than managing things at home. After all, it is seen as light but, this house
work is a great thing to do in developing great character in each
individual such being to be a responsible, clean person and efficient
person.

There are a variety of characters that can be developed when I often
help doing chores at home like being able to be a responsible person.
This is so because, responsibility in oneself is one of the important
things for everyone in the world. If we do not have responsibility then it
will make others look at us with a less favourable view. For example,
when we become a wife to our husband, we will not let our husband go
unmanaged because of the nature of responsibility in us as a wife to our

husband. Therefore, it is important to have responsibilities to ensure that
household affairs will be done properly. Besides, I can also developed
the sense of responsibility towards both parents by doing house chores.
This is because, my parents are definitely getting older and I cannot
depend on them alone. Therefore, it is important that I take over and try
to carry out my responsibilities as a good and obedient child to them by
helping doing the house chores.

Besides,helping doing house chores regularly also helps me to
develop my cleanliness attitude. This is because by doing the cleaning
and tidying at home, it makes me to dislike seeing anything scattered on
the floor, room, and so on. I will sweep and mop the dirty floor to ensure
the house is clean and fresh. In addition, doing housework can also
keep us away from stress. This is because,if the house is cluttered and
unmanaged, I will definitely get stressed. As to this ,I like to be in a clean
and comfortable home.

Furthermore, being a person who likes everything to be clean, I do not
like to see anything which is not organised or dirty. For example, I will
wipe thoroughly the table after eating. If we do not have the character of
being clean for sure our table that has been used will always be dirty
and uncomfortable with a condition with a condition that will be sticky
and rotten.

In addition, doing housework can make me efficient. This is
because,in terms of the management in cleaning and tidying it takes a
long time to complete all the housework outside and inside of the house.
For example,sweeping the garbage,mopping the floor,wiping the
windows and so on.I am able to manage time well because of my
efficiency that I have become accustomed in managing the housework.
The housework will be easier to complete when I become more efficient
in doing it daily. At the beginning when I did one housework,I will quickly
felt tired and lethargic but once I got used to doing it,the housework
becomes easy and feel less tired even doing a lot of housework.

In conclusion, managing and cleaning the house is an important job in
ensuring the atmosphere and condition of the house comfortable, fresh,
cheerful and clean . If we care and responsible of cleaning and doing
housework management, if will be easier and more organised to
perform. Doing housework is not a useless job and should not be taken
lightly because not everyone is able to do the work because of one
needs to divide time effectively. Men can also take part in cleaning and
tidying the house to help parents or wives. Therefore, it is important for
us to try and participate in house management and cleaning the house.
