MESSAGE FROM MANAGING
DIRECTOR

Fellow employees, I am confident that you will enjoy
reading the clarifier, your favorite in-house magazine
produced by our Public Relations Unit. This third edi-
tion for the year 2022, is very insightful and educative.
A lot has happened in the third quarter of 2022. We
have new employees on board and others have sepa-
rated from KWSC for various reasons. To those that
have left the utility, we wish you all the best and thank
you for your service. To those that have joined KWSC,
please work hard and put in your very best.
As Managing Director, it’s my pleasure to report to you all that Completion works on the 449 million US
dollar multi-purpose Kafubu Water Supply System Project have started.
The contractor is back on site and all things being equal, this project will be ready for commissioning in the
next 12 months. The Kafulafuta Water Project is a game changer for the utility. It will significantly improve
the income of the utility once completed. On completion of this all-important project, KWSC shall also inte-
grate new customers into its database and in turn broaden its revenue collections.
The floating solar project is also on course. A Memorandum of Understanding MOU has been signed with
the developer. A feasibility study on the said project is yet to be undertaken. With these developments, I have
no doubt that KWSC will soon be among the leading water and sanitation utilities in Africa.

Enjoy your reading.
Engineer. Athanasius .K. Mwaba.
