Have you seen a surplus of .223 or 5.56 NATO anywhere around? Neither have we.
Some retailers are plum out of reloading accessories, too. Primers are in short
supply. That’s impressive, to say the least. If you’ve been looking for a sign to get
into reloading, or at least to keep your brass so that you can get into reloading if
and when you want to, this is it. On one level, an AR shell catcher can help with
that. At least, it has the potential to do so.

Do you know those brass catcher bags? Those mesh bags that mount to your
Picatinny rails and stick out and over your action like a big flag? Those
things melt. They obstruct your sight picture. They get in the way and they’re
annoying as you can imagine. They’re annoying in some ways you can’t
imagine, too.

No one wants to enter three-gun or other competitive shooting competitions
with a big bulky monstrosity like one of these things attached to their AR. Even if
you only enjoy range therapy, autoloaders throw brass like a big-league pitcher.
Raking them up is almost as much of a pain as those brass catcher bags are.

Magwell Mounts watched, listened, and then watched some more. They saw the
shortcoming and they set out to create a better AR shell catcher. That’s precisely
what they did. Magwell Mounts came up with the Brass Goat. Don’t take “greatest
of all time” lightly - they don’t. Unlike those flimsy brass bags that get in the way
and often melt under the influence of hot brass, the Brass Goat is made from tough,
durable ABS resin that is stable and extremely tough.

It also is designed to mount directly to Mil-Spec dimension AR-15 lower
receivers. If you have any questions about compatibility, you can check them
out right on their website, BrassGoat.com. Find the details there, or get in
touch with their customer service team at 1-833-MAGWELL and they’ll address
your concerns.

It doesn’t obstruct your sight picture, won’t melt, and it is lightweight and
streamlined. It won’t cause jams, and it’s compatible with a proprietary
hopper that will hold up to 30 rounds of .223 Remington brass. In other
words, there’s never been a better tool to easily and conveniently collect your
spent brass.
