Imagination is quite possibly a uniquely human ability. In essence, it allows us to explore ideas of things that are not in our present environment, or perhaps not even real. For example, one can imagine the cup of coffee seen the day before, or one can imagine an alien spaceship arriving in the earth's orbit. The key is that what is imagined is generated from within rather than perceived based on input from
without.

We hope your special day will bring you lots of happiness, love, and fun...

Books never go like I want them to. They go around my mind, Making me feel like a fool.
Times like this always make me feel rage, When all the books end with a dismaying page
.
As I open a new one there’s a little hope. But it slowly drifts into anger,
And runs back down saying, “NOPE!”
Though I found a way to make myself happy,
By imagining the story,
That I’d read gladly.

WINDFALL, BY JENNIFER E. SMITH
What’s important in life? Money, success, popularity are all words
that float to the top of the list yet friendship, empathy, kindness and
love are possibly where happiness resides. This warm, heart-lifting
novel from Jennifer E. Smith encourages us to question what is really
important in life.Alice buys best friend Teddy a lottery ticket for his
birthday as a joke. She doesn’t believe in luck and the last thing she
expects is for Teddy to win and win big. Suddenly the comfortable
life she has come to know is thrown in to disarray and things begin
to change and the Teddy she thought she knew so well and who
she’s secretly been in love with for years, begins to change. As she
sees his popularity rise along with his bank balance and their hopes
and dreams change, she begins to feel that she is losing him. But
soon Teddy discovers that using his newfound wealth committing
random acts of kindness is the way forward and Alice joins him on
helping to change the lives of random strangers. This thoughtful,
inspiring story follows them on their adventure as they grow,
sometimes together and sometimes apart, but both discovering a
little more about each other and themselves along the way.For me,
Alice and Teddy’s story highlights the changes we can all make within
our world and the knock-on effect that can have. It’s a wonderful
message about love, hope and friendship, and ultimately about
acceptance; acceptance that we can’t always control what happens
in our lives but that our actions have the power to change, maybe
not the whole world, but certainly the world for at least one person
through the kindness we can share. And that is a wonderful power to
have indeed. Imagination is quite possibly a uniquely human ability.
In essence, it allows us to explore ideas of things that are not in our
present environment, or perhaps not even real. For example, one
can imagine the cup of coffee seen the day before, or one can
imagine an alien spaceship arriving in the earth's orbit. The key is
that what is imagined is generated from within rather than perceived
based on input from without.

Staying healthy can be a challenge but, with a few simple guidelines, is possible.
Get Educated About Your Body
The first step in taking control of your health is understanding your body. One of the most important and powerful things we can do in this new year and new decade is to get familiar with what's happening inside our physical bodies. If you don't know the intimacies of what's happening inside your body and how things are functioning, then you don't know what to give it from the outside. so many people are taking supplements and herbs, eating trendy foods, and following fad diets because they've read about it—but might not have taken the time to really look at all of their levels and body mechanics to know if it's actually right for them. One of the best gifts you can give yourself this new year is a deep-dive into your own inner system and better awareness of what it's doing so you can give it what it needs. A functional medicine doctor is a great place to start!.

Thirty miles off the coast of Queensland, Australia, a small piece of history was made last summer: Scientists transplanted hundreds of nursery-grown coral fragments onto the beleaguered Great Barrier Reef.
The process itself is not new—coral transplants have been used to help restore damaged reefs for decades. What’s new is that it’s happening on the world’s largest reef, an icon of marine life that has been dubbed one of the seven wonders of the natural world.
Almost a third dead
In 2016 and 2017, the Great Barrier Reef experienced back-to-back “marine heat waves”—periods of elevated sea temperatures that resulted in the death of almost a third of all the reef’s corals.
The question the research is trying to answer, says Suggett, is whether propagation and out planting of stress-surviving corals can speed up reef recovery, rather than having to rely on the slower natural process of coral reproduction to replace the individuals that died.
“The success of the project won’t be known until we have another marine heat wave,” says Suggett. That’s likely to be sooner rather than later.

At our school, we come up with various opportunities to showcase the wonderful talents of the students at Winchester.
Listening to radio stations is a terrific way to improve your ability to understand spoken English. Listening to the radio provides opportunities to listen to many different people speaking English at a normal rate of speed and in many different dialects and accents.
Apart from giving this exciting chance of learning in a fun way, we also entertain parents, teachers, and students with our songs and laughs, that will be added to our radio.
We will be broadcasting our radio station at the end of each week. If you want to be a part of the radio station, please send your audio with your name and class to [email protected] . For more information, please talk to any of the WSA Magazine Team members (names on last page).
