CHAPTER IX: COVID-19 HANDLING PROTOCOL

39. Background. Management of the ADAEC health protocols under the coordinator
of Medical Officer upon arrival of students in anticipating Covid-19 includes the following
aspects: early detection of all students, health checks to ensure possible symptoms of
Covid-19 and other congenital diseases in the 3qexamination room, reporting cases of
students suspected of being infected with Covid-19 to the ADAEC Commander, isolation
and referral process for students suspected of being infected with Covid-19 to a referral
hospital by using an ambulance that meets the criteria and health quarantine measures
on transportation and equipment suspected of being exposed to Covid-19 by spraying
disinfectants.

40. Covid-19 Handling.

a. Symptoms of Covid-19. Each person has a different response when
infected with the coronavirus. Most people who are exposed to the coronavirus will
have mild Symptoms to moderate symptoms and will recover without needing to
be hospitalized.

1) Most Common Symptoms.

a) Fever.
b) Dry Cough.
c) Exhaustion.

2) Slightly Uncommon Symptoms.

a) Discomfort and pain.
b) Sore Throat.
c) Diarrhea.

60

On average, symptoms will appear 5-6 days after a person is first infected with the
Covid-19 virus, but it can also be 14 days after being infected.

b. Health Checkup/Treatment. The ADAEC Clinic is adequate for health
check-ups and treatment for students who have health problems. Therefore, if the
students feel sick especially with the above symptoms, the students immediately
carry out a medical examination under the following conditions:

1) Self-Report to the internal affairs officer and chief of class and fill the
treatment log book.
2) Reporting to the class supervisor about the student’s health
conditions development.
3) Carry out health checks or treatment activities in accordance with
applicable regulations at the ADAEC Clinic.
4) Report the results of a health examination or treatment to the coach
at the first opportunity.

41. Isolation Site. To break the chain of spread of Covid-19, ADAEC provides special
isolation rooms: Mess Gatsu and Pusdikarhanud Language Laboratory. Passes that are
declared reactive in the rapid antigen test will be isolated in a special isolation room that
has been provided.

42. Covid-19 prevention. How to prevent Covid-19 can be done by implementing
clean and healthy lifestyles. This prevention is considered the best way to avoid the
disease caused by the corona virus, as follows:

a. Wear a mask. Masks are still one of the most important personal protective
equipment used to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. Although previously it
was only recommended for sore people, now the whole community is also
encouraged to use it.

b. Washing hands. Several cases of transmission are predicted to occur when
hands that touch surfaces contaminated by the coronavirus then accidentally touch
the face. The coronavirus then passes from the hands to the nose or mouth. Get
in the habit of diligently washing your hands with soap and avoid touching your
face as often as possible.

c. Social distancing. Social distancing is keeping a distance from other people.
The recommended social distancing is at least 1 meter from one another.

d. Get appropriate rest and eat nutritious food. Not everyone infected with the
coronavirus dies. Some people managed to recover thanks to their immune
conditions and good health services. To keep the body's immunity in prime
condition, don't get enough rest (sleep 8 hours a day) and always eat nutritious
foods (foods containing adequate amounts of carbohydrates, protein, fat, vitamins,
minerals, and water). Drink at least 2 litres of water every day. Increase your intake
of vitamin C independently, either natural vitamin C from fruit or vitamin C that can
be purchased at pharmacies or drug stores. If you have co-morbidities/congenital
diseases, you are required to bring medicines according to the advice or provisions
of the doctor.
e. Clean and disinfect the surfaces of objects that are often touched to
minimize exposure to the coronavirus from objects that we touch frequently.
