holes. The core holes are used to hold cremains in place without

being noticeable from the outside of the monument. This also

Instead of going with a China Grey Single Pillar, this family decided to change the granite to Jet Black with a Jet Black Tile
Cover. By doing this, we were allowed the freedom to customize every side of the pillar with Laser Etching! We used the tile
for Joshua’s portrait, the front for sandblasted lettering and dates, then we used the right, back and left sides to wrap a lake
scene around with music notes, lyrics and a fisherman.

increase readability. Lithichrome, or Litho, is used to highlight the

Existing Stone Match

We ask you to use transfer paper and a firm object to take a
rubbing of the existing design. We then scan this into the computer
and our designers reproduce the design to the best of their ability.

Remember, these designs used to be done by hand!
A one-of-a-kind design will always be just that, one-of-a-kind.

Flat Carve or Shape Carve

Our Flat Carve process removes the polish from
the design area, as well as cuts lines and removes
some surrounding stone. When accompanied by a
contrasting lithochrome enamel, it gives the

appearance of depth and produces the desired

image.

Our Shape Carve is essentially the same, with the

addition of removing material by hand to produce

the 3-dimensional image desired.

Custom Art Components

We can take an image provided by a customer (provided it is a good
quality image) and input it into our design program where we can
then custom create a CAD design of this image. Sandblasting
requires mathematical precision. In the given example, we can see

where some of the finer details have to be omitted due to the

mathematical constraints of the sandblasting process.
The smaller the image, the less detail that can be incorporated.

We use Speedball paint to brighten the
laser images on the granite.
Speedball is a water-soluble screen
printing ink. With its thin consistency,

it allows for the ink to sink into the

small etchings of the laser image.
