การติดตอ่ สื่อสารโดยใชโ้ ทรศพั ทถ์ ือเป็นวธิ ีการสื่อสารที่สาคญั สะดวกและ
นิยมใชโ้ ดยทวั่ ไป ไมว่ า่ จะเป็ นการโทรส่วนตวั หรือโทรติดต่อทางธุรกิจ

1. Telephone Numbers (หมายเลขโทรศัพท์)

เราใชเ้ ลขจานวนนบั (Cardinal number) ในการอา่ นหมายเลขโทรศพั ทซ์ ่ึงจะอา่ นเรียงตวั
ไป เลขศูนยจ์ ะออกเสียงวา่ โอ (oh) หรือ zero กไ็ ด้ ในกรณีหมายเลขโทรศพั ทล์ งทา้ ยดว้ ยเลขศูนย์ 2
ตวั จะอา่ นเป็ น double 0 (ดบั เบิ้ล โอ) หรือจะอ่านเรียงตวั ปกติก็ได้ หรืออ่านลงทา้ ยดว้ ย hundred ,
thousand ก็ได้ เช่น

Tel. 3926730 = telephone three nine two six seven three oh
Tel. 4646500 = telephone four six four six five hundred
Tel. 5213000 = telephone five two one three oh oh oh (three thousand)

การอา่ นเรียงตวั จะใช้ Hyphen คนั่ ทุกตวั กไ็ ด้ เช่น

3. Conjunction (คำสนั ธำน)

Conjunction คือ คาท่ีใชเ้ ช่ือมระหวา่ งประโยคต่อประโยค คาตอ่ คา หรือระหวา่ งกริยาต่อกริยา เช่น
-ประโยคต่อประโยค
I study English, but he studies French.
ฉนั เรียนภาษาองั กฤษ แต่เขาเรียนภาษาฝรั่งเศส

-คานามต่อนาม
A boy and a girl are dancing.
เด็กชายและเดก็ หญิงกาลงั เตน้ รา

-กริยาตอ่ กริยา
He comes and stays with me at home.
เขามาพกั อยกู่ บั ฉนั ท่ีบา้ น เป็ นตน้

Conjunction แบ่งออกเป็น 2 ชนิดคือ
1. Conjunction คาเดียว (Single Conjunction)
2. Conjunction วลีหรือผสม (Conjunction Phrase)

1. Conjunction คาเดียวที่พบเห็นบอ่ ย ๆ และใชก้ นั แพร่หลายมีดงั ต่อไปน้ี
and, or, but, so, as, because, for, whether วา่ , until จนกระทง่ั , after หลงั จาก, beforeก่อน, if ถา้ ,
though (โด) แมว้ า่ , although (ออโด) ถึงแมว้ า่ , that ซ่ึง, whenเม่ือ/ตอน,whileในขณะที่, ในระหวา่ งที่,
besides นอกจากน้ี, except (เอก๊ เซ็พท)์ ยกเวน้ , unless (อนั เลส) ถา้ ....ไม่ เช่น

He is sick so he goes to see a doctor. (เขาไม่สบาย ดงั น้นั เขาจึงไปหาหมอ)
He goes to school although he is sick. (เขาไปโรงเรียนถึงแมว้ า่ เขาไมส่ บาย)

While I was cooking, the telephone rang. (ขณะที่ฉนั กาลงั ทากบั ขา้ วอยู่ โทรศพั ทก์ ็ดงั ข้ึน)
When I arrived home, my mom was sleeping. (เมื่อตอนที่ฉนั มาถึงบา้ น คุณแม่ก็กาลงั หลบั อย)ู่
They were watching a football match when a dog appeared.

not only.....but also ไมเ่ พียงแต่.....เท่าน้นั แต่.................อีกดว้ ย
Either...or แปลวา่ ไม่อนั ใดก็อนั หน่ึง ใชส้ าหรับใหเ้ ลือกเอาอยา่ งใดอยา่ งหน่ึง ถา้ ไปควบประธาน 2
ตวั จะใชก้ ริยาเป็นรูป เอกพจน์หรือพหูพจน์น้นั ตอ้ งถือตามประธานตวั หลงั เช่น
Either you or he is punished tonight. ไมค่ ุณกเ็ ขาถูกลงโทษคืนน้ี
Either he or I am mistaken. ไมเ่ ขาก็ผมเป็นผผู้ ิด เป็นตน้

Neither...nor แปลวา่ "ไม่ท้งั สอง" ใชส้ าหรับปฏิเสธโดยสิ้นเชิง ถา้ ไปควบประธาน 2 ตวั จะใชก้ ริยา
เอกพจน์หรือพหูพจน์น้นั ตอ้ งถือตามประธานตวั หลงั เช่นเดียวกนั เช่น
Neither her friends nor she speaks Chinese. ท้งั เพือ่ นของเธอและเธอไม่พูดภาษาจีน
Neither you nor he studies mathematics. ท้งั คุณและเขาไม่ไดเ้ รียนคณิตศาสตร์ เป็นตน้

Not only...but also แปลวา่ "ไมเ่ พียงแต.่ ..เท่าน้นั แตย่ งั อีกดว้ ย" เราใชส้ ันธานวลีคาน้ี เพื่อเนน้ น้าหนกั
ของขอ้ ความท้งั สองอยา่ งใหเ้ ด่นชดั ข้ึนแตส่ ่ิงที่นามาให้ ใชห้ รือกล่าวถึงน้นั ตอ้ งมีความสามารถไปทาง
เดียวกนั เช่น ดีกด็ ีดว้ ยกนั เช่น
Malisa is not beautiful but also clever. มาลิสาไมเ่ พียงแตส่ วยเทา่ น้นั แต่ยงั ฉลาดอีกดว้ ย
Wichai is not only stupid but also lazy. วชิ ยั ไมใ่ ช่เพียงแต่โง่เท่าน้นั แตย่ งั ข้ีเกียจอีกดว้ ย

***not only....but also "อน่ึงถา้ " ไปใชเ้ ช่ือมประธาน 2 ตวั จะใชก้ ริยาเป็นพจน์อะไรน้นั ตอ้ งถือตาม

Not only your friends but also your sister wants to see the cinema tonight.
