Known by many names, Wayne was affectionately called Dick in Barbados, while in the United States he answered mostly to Cisco. The lush countryside of Barbados was the backdrop for Wayne's formative years. Like many Caribbean boys, his childhood was full of adventure and exploration, and a good dose of discipline. At around four years old Wayne started running track and then later fell in love with soccer. He was naturally fast and did well in the sport. His innate abilities and the love of sport instilled in his youth would emerge in later years, including through his participation on the Brooklyn Bombers, an adult softball teamhe joined in 1987, serving most recently as pitcher. Wayne's connection to food started at an early age. He loved snacks and would often spend his travel money to procure them, forcing him and his brother Glenroy (Ricky) to have to walk home from school. When he was disciplined he would run away from home and hide out at the local church, but would come back home to eat since he couldn't resist his sister Cyrlene’s cooking. Always a happy kid, Wayne loved to climb trees and eat fruits. He particularly liked climbing the golden apple tree in his backyard. A bit mischievous as well, Wayne managed to get himself into quite a few “accidents'' between the ages of six and eight years old, including sticking a pitchfork in his big toe, hitting Cyrlene in the head with a machete intended for his older brother Wallace, and burning down a neighbor’s cane field. Like all little brothers, he often tried to assert himself among his siblings, but he and Ricky were inseparable battle buddies. At the tender age of ten, Wayne embarked on a new chapter in Brooklyn, NY, where he would leave his mark on the hearts and minds of many. After graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1992, Wayne's passion for music and house parties became evidentin the establishment of the DJ set Ciscomania, the origin of his moniker. Joined by a close-knit group including his brother Ricky, Wayne's house parties evolved into a phenomenon that captured the spirit of East New York for three vibrant years. As the DJ he curated the beats, with Chris (close friend) as the emcee and Lowlypan (close friend) getting the party started. In 1994, Wayne faced a major defining moment. After overcoming an early pregnancy scare, he welcomed his first daughter Jazmine Stevenson on January 24. As a first time dad Cisco was both nervous and overjoyed. He found his footing along the way, settling into this new chapter of his life. In 2011, he embraced the role of devoted husband to his beloved Mereesa Baptiste, and they welcomed their daughter BrookLynn on June 9. As a family man, Wayne made sure that “his girls” felt his love and presence. He fiercely protected his wife and daughters and boasted to anyone who would listen how proud he was to be a “girl dad.” Wayne's professional journey reflected his diverse talents and entrepreneurial spirit. In addition to holding down a 9 to 5 at FedEx, Wayne's early creative endeavors included establishing the beloved Brooklyn Wings in Canarsie, and partnering with Ricky to launch a shop in bustling Bridgetown, Barbados. Wayne's entrepreneurial spirit knew no bounds; he had an ability to “see” and “seed” a vision. Fueled by his passion for style and a keen eye for trends, Wayne established a clothing line called Brilliant Rebellion that reflected his unique blend of creativity and flair. With “rebels” such as Malcolm X and Che Guevera featured in the collection, his work paid tribute to historical figures who embodied his spirit of challenging the status quo. Drawing inspiration from his diverse experiences and the vibrant cultural tapestry that shaped him, Wayne’s Brilliant Rebellion resonated with individuals seeking comfort, style and bold self-expression. Wayne's latest pursuit was in the area of day trading. What started as a pastime during the pandemic became another outlet to express his unique interests and his desire to help those around him. With practice and persistence his curiosity turned into craft, and he began to see success in 2023. True to form, he willingly shared his knowledge and his trading advice proved lucrative for several friends. Most recently he launched the WhatsApp Channel Trade and Travel with Cisco to spread his passion for both with a wider audience. Always multidimensional, Wayne's endeavors showcased his creative talents, his ability to hustle (at a day job or in a startup venture,) and most of all his ability to bring people together through the universal language of food, fashion and fun. He loved, worked, and played hard. Through his family, friends, and countless satisfied customers he leaves an enduring legacy in both Barbados and the United States. Wayne is predeceased by his father Anthony Foster. He leaves behind his mother Jennifer Babb; his wife Mereesa Babb; his two daughters Jazmine Stevenson and BrookLynn Babb; his siblings Wallace Babb (Crystal Babb), Cyrlene Babb, Julie Diaz (Carlos Diaz), Glenroy "Ricky" Babb (Suzette Babb) and Roger Agard (since deceased); a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren. and cousins; and his beloved fur baby Mimi, another one of “his girls.” SERVICE ORDER OF LIFE REFLECTIONS poems His Journey’s Just Begun by Ellen Brenneman Don’t think of him as gone away - his journey’s just begun life holds so many facetsthis earth is only one... Just think of him as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years. Think how he must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched… for nothing loved is ever lostand he was loved so much. It Will Never Be Goodbye Author Unknown If I should go tomorrow It would never be goodbye, For I have left my heart with you, So don't you ever cry. The love that's deep within me, Shall reach you from the stars, You'll feel it from the heavens, And it will heal the scars.
