Ethiopian Epiphany is the most vibrant liturgical ritual celebrated by the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Christians in Ethiopia and

all over the world to commemorate the Baptism of Jesus Christ by saint John the Baptist in the river Jordan. It is celebrated on

January 19th or 20th in a leap year of G.C with round procession from the parishes to the celebration site where all clerical hierarchies

and believers, as well as willing participants of all ages, attend irrespective of their gender ethnicity,social status, and other identities

in unity and equality. Timket is a unique the occasion that associates biblical facts with social and spiritual expressions holding special

visibility that promotes inter-cultural dialogue among the multi-ethnic populations. 33

Day 1 Addis Ababa Arrival Day 2 City Tour and Ketera (Eve)
Arrive in the evening/night at Bole International Airport,
meet and assist by ET-Representative and transfer to your hotel In the morning ET-sta s will pick you from your hotel and you will go for
half day city tour of Addis.The sightseeing of Addis includes visiting Unity
Meal: Lunch and Dinner Park and Entoto Mountain Natural Park to enjoy the panoramic view of

In the afternoon you will attend the colorful procession of Epiphany festival
or “Ketera”This is when the Tabots of each church are carried out in
procession to a river or pool of water where the next day's celebration will
take place.A special tent is set up where each Tabot rests as members of the
church choirs chant hymns.

Today is main day for the celebration of the Ethiopian Epiphany - 2 Nights’ hotel cost minimum at 4* Hotel
