Happy Birthday to all Army men Hi all, Happy June! Hope you all had a great month of May. This month current
and women! students completed their first semester (spring) May 8th and began second
semester (summer) May 23rd. May 12th Dr. Debbie Sikes along with Debbie
Happy Birthday to all Coast Casida and Glenn Barnes presented Response to Active Shooter-A Nursing
Guard Auxiliary men and Perspective in Amarillo, TX. Team RWB Lubbock had a busy but memorable
women! month of May. May 19th we had our monthly social, May 27th we joined
Lubbock area veterans for a 4 mile ruck/walk, last we attended the May 28th
Memorial Day Service where we had the honor of hearing Staff Sargent Alonzo
Lunsford story. Staff Sargent Lunsford was shot six times in the Ft. Hood mass
shooting November 5th, 2009. He served as an Army Medic.

This month I will be attending the Council on Military Education in the South
(COMETS) conference at Ft. Hood in Killeen, TX Monday June 26th. The U.S.
Army will be celebrating its 242nd birthday and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary
will be celebrating its 78th.

Attention all prospects, applicants please read page 2 as there is important
information about the application requirements, and deadlines. Current students
please see page 3 as Career Services has provided some beneficial information.
With the opening of application I will hold my Zoom office hours this month
Friday June 16th from 2-4pm (CT). Please RSVP me

Prospective Students

Application will open May 1st. Below is what needs to be completed and
submitted by the close of application July 15th. Link to SON Application Portal.

• Submission of official transcripts with minimum overall cumulative GPA
of 2.5; preference for overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Completion of at least 40 prerequisite course credits by application close
date.

• Preference for science GPA of 3.0 or higher in core courses including
Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology I & II, Microbiology, and
Pathophysiology. Completion of 3 of the 5 lab sciences is required by
application close date.

• Submission of TEAS V (or most current version of the Test of Essential
Academic Skills) scores no later than the application close date; Proficient
level or higher is required in all the following areas: Reading 69.0%, Math
63.3%, Science 45.8%, English and Language Usage 60.0%.

• Submission of official military transcripts: Joint Service Transcripts (JST)
or Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) which ever applies to
you.

• DD-214 if applicable

Active reservists must provide signed letter from reserve commanding officer
annual training prior to and after VBSN track. Links provided below.

Zoom

• This month I will hold Zoom office hours Friday June 16th starting at 2pm and ending
at 4pm (CT).

• Zoom allows us to have face to face interaction for all who decide to attend. Also, it
will help answer questions that you may not have thought of and will allow us all to
explore answers and options together. Zoom is currently what is used within the
TTUHSC SON as the main form of communication. So, this will also give you a head
start and familiarity.

• This month I ask that you RSVP to my email [email protected]. I will then
send you an email with the link to join.

• To access Zoom you can do one of two things. First option is to go through your
application provider and download the free version of Zoom and follow instructions.
Second option is click on link from your computer and follow instructions.
