First encounter
The adventures I’ve experienced with cannabis fanatics in the past and how some of them became close
friends are both reasons is why I’ve started capturing my adventures and experiences along the way. To get
things rolling, I want to share something about my first encounter with cannabis. At the age of 4, I remember
my parents took me with them to a cafe on Sunday when they couldn’t find a babysitter. I can remember
that the people in there warned us for ‘hasjkikkers’ (literal dutch) which translates into: hash-frogs. I spent a
descent amount of my childhood looking for these magical creatures.
About 3 years later I found out that hash-frogs was just a cynical synonym for cannabis users. My parents must
have had a lot of fun though.

AMSTERDAM

For our first issue we figured it was about
right to start with Amsterdam. Amsterdam,

known as the (former) cannabis capital of
the world, where everyone (18+) can legally
enter a coffeeshop and consume their herbs
in peace is a walhalla to cannabis consuming

city is so popular amongst cannabis-loving

over-romanticize the cannabis industry in the
Netherlands. The ineffectiveness of the current

toleration policy has proven itself for more
than 45 years. For example: the coffeeshops
are allowed to sell cannabis to the consumer,
but there is no regulation on where and how
the cannabis is grown. As a result to the fact
that growing is completely prohibited, the
street market is heavily polluted. Since these
batches mostly didn’t pass the coffeeshops’

Before we start our trip into the jungle of terpenes and
trichomes, we want to show you some of Amsterdam’s finest

For this first issue, we want to introduce you to the
first unknown grower. Since we’ve had an amazing

summer we were already waiting for the first
autoflowers to be harvested.

The opinions about working with autoflowers or
Ruderalis strains are divided. While some choose to
avoid strains that flower automatically, some growers

are completely in love with these fast runners.

Our first (outdoor) grower combines the best of
both worlds, he likes to finish his autoflowers
early in the beginning of the summer while the
sun is at her full potential (18 hours of sunlight).
On the other side he had the time to optimize
and veg his regular ladies.
We find ourselves in the south of the Nether-
lands where we have seen almost no rain for the
past summer, together with Californian tempe-
ratures the autoflowers from our first grower

turned out great!

Toofless Alien - by Mephisto Genetics

This one is mystic! A deep orange and cheese
smell with hints of skunk and berry’s. A dense
flower with heavy trichome production. When
she turned from cloudy to amber, our unknown
grower took her down and slow dried her in
2 weeks. Afterwards like a true caretaker, our
friend cured the nuggets for at least 2 weeks.
This clean batch is a whirlwind of flavors. The
Toofless Alien is truly a strain from somewhere
outside our solar system!

Auto Colorado Cookies - by Dutch Passion
- Indica dominant x Ruderalis
Sweet doughy and completely covered in
trichomes. That’s the best way to explain what
we smell and see when we take a look at Auto
Colorado Cookies. The taste is best defined as
minty and herbal. This phenotype clearly tends

present since you start to relax strongly with a

These blocks we pick up at Boerejongens, are the
terpene infused soaps from Amsterdam Genetics.
We particularly mention these because the soaps are
amazing for your skin while you enjoy the sweet scent of

whatever strain you like.

Instead of using chemicals for smell and co-
lor, the soaps from Amsterdam Genetics are
made of hemp oil and natural terpenes (the
element that is responsible for smell and color
in plants). We’ve started to use the Amsterdam
Genetics soap a few weeks ago. We have to say,
we feel way more fresh after our daily showers.
What we’ve noticed immediately was that our
skins turned softer. Next to that, by using soap
instead of shower gel we’ve noticed our skins
started feeling less rough and actually felt more
lively. The texture of the soap feels good and is
nicely finished with all the different elements
that are used in one block.

side of Amsterdam because it’s located in a more mellow and relaxed
environment. From our point of view this is a good way to get acquainted
