Announcing the New Wentcher Scholars

At the Wentcher Foundation, we believe that college changes everything. In 2001, we began providing support for the college
education of Chicagoans with high financial need, who have shown exceptional academic merit and high character. To date, over
800 students have been named Wentcher Scholars, receiving a total of $13 million in scholarship awards to continue their education
at colleges nationwide.

This year, Chicago-area students are graduating from high school remotely, their achievements set against a backdrop of local,
national and international crises. While the time is uncertain, their talent is unmatched, and we remain committed to their education
and future. We are confident Chicago’s bright and diverse students will be our future leaders.

It is with great pride that the Wentcher Foundation Board of Directors and Staff extend the legacy of Ernest Wentcher by
presenting the largest class of Wentcher Scholars including 99 students across our three scholarship programs and a
commitment of $3.5 million in financial aid over four years.

The 19th Class of Wentcher Scholars includes:
84 Chicago Public School seniors in the Class of 2024 CPS Wentcher Scholars receiving renewable awards of
up to $10,000 a year for four years to attend the college of their choice.
10 new 2022 Oakton Wentcher Scholars receiving renewable awards of up to $3,500 a year for two years to
attend Oakton Community College.
5 new 2022 Oakton Wentcher Transfer Scholars receiving renewable awards of up to $10,000 a year for two
years to complete their undergraduate degree at the college of their choice.
