COMMUNITY 2015 News
CONSISTENCY
COMMUNICATION 2015 opened with the usual influx of New Boys, their Camp and the New
Prefects, lead by Ruan Murison as HoS making everyone feel welcome.
And 2015 finished with the Valediction and Farewells to the Matrics.
And that was the year that was!
In the year of our 50th Celebrations the new San was
dedicated by Bishop Jo Seoka and opened by Paul and
Ann Marsh, after whom the building is named – The
Paul and Ann Marsh Medical Centre. (right)It stands
opposite the old squash court. Sister Elaine Davis is still
looking after the sick, ailing and injured!
In that year too, extensions to the Chamberlain
Block were completed through the generosity of the
Chamberlain family. A new Fountain at the entrance
was a birthday present from WHPS.
The Von Geusau Squash court has been converted into a Welcome Centre, so if you
come to visit that’s where you can meet for coffee. Richard and Christopher came along
with their mother Irma to perform the official opening.

OLD ALBANIAN 200 CLUB
The Old Albanian 200 Club is an initiative taken on by the Old Albanian Club with the
aim of raising funds to benefit the Old Albanian Community and children thereof, who
may well not be able to afford their children the privilege that they had of attending the
College. There will be 200 members each contributing R100 per month. Each member
will then be entered into a quarterly lucky draw where 25% of the collected funds will
be dispersed as prizes. The other 75% will then go into the fund. For further information
please contact Ian Cameron at [email protected] Cell: 078 803 3033.

COMMUNITY 50th Celebrations Book
CONSISTENCY
COMMUNICATION This book is chiefly authored by Bruce Pinnock and it reflects Bruce’s
philosophy that schools are all about people and the bonds between people.
This is a book of stories and it also strives to place our school’s development in
the context of its times. It isn’t intended to be a scholarly book,
but rather a book into which one can dip, in order to gain
an insight into the people who have built and developed
the College.
Every Journey has a Story is our way of collecting the
stories, the key events and the trends that have created
what we know today as ‘The College’. In conjunction with
John Boje’s excellent Something to be Told, published in 1997,
the sometimes precarious, but always courageous history of St Alban’s
College over the course of the first half-century of its existence, has
been comprehensively told.
