Dear members o f t he S t. A lban’s College Community 15 N ovember 2 017
We are hitting the home stretch with the exams and the season of Advent is creeping up on
us. Before we know it, it will be Christmas. It is our Anglican tradition to celebrate the Advent
season reminding us of Jesus Christ entering the world as a baby in human form. We prepare
and c elebrate t his with T he Feast o f Nine L essons a nd Carols.
This year we have the privilege and joy to have this event on Friday 24 November 2017 at
18H30 at St. Alban’s Cathedral in Pretoria. The Cathedral of St Alban the Martyr is the
Mother-church of the Pretoria Diocese, and acts as a focal point for all congregations within
the borders o f the diocese o f Pretoria.
This event is one of the major festivals in the life of the Church and the College and is
therefore compulsory for students to attend. We invite parents, extended family and friends
of the College to joyfully come and join u s at t he service.
It is an opportunity for us as a College community to come together in word and song to give
thanks to God for the past year. We will also take a collection to help cover the cost of using
the C athedral.
However, if you are unable to join your son at the service, you may collect him at the
Cathedral after the service or back at the College once the buses return. Details of boys’
