Dear Parents,
Welcome back to term 2, I trust for the most part your boys have had a good break and are ready
to hit the ground running.
It has been a busy holiday for many with a number of sports festival across all age groups, public
speaking competitions as well as overseas basketball and STEM tours. We have had a number of
boys involved in each of these and I look forward to hearing the report backs in the coming weeks.
Having gone through all your sons’ reports I am delighted with some of the excellence that has
been achieved and progress that has been made. There are obviously the odd cases where we
could possible perform better or see boys extend themselves but on the whole I have been
impressed with how the house has begun the year. With Journey moving to the third term we really
did seem to build some good momentum in the house and school and I am certain this will
continue into this term.
The leadership team have set a good tone throughout this first term and I will be looking to
challenging them further. I am also hoping this term will give me the time to engage more on a
personal level with each of the tutor groups.
As you would know the second term usually starts off with a bang and it is no different this year with
an action packed weekend first up. We will be playing a full winter sport fixture against Pretoria
Boys over Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. As well as enjoying a combined family night with
Knoll on Sunday evening. Please see dates to diaries below for more details on this event and
others.
