COMMUNITY CLASS OF 1996 REUNION
CONSISTENCY
COMMUNICATION The Class of 1996 held their 20 year Reunion in June. Brendan Sinclair had done the
organising and could be well pleased with the turnout of thirty. Paul Holtzhausen had
travelled from Los Angeles and Rubert Russell from Texas. Few of them had been back to
College in the intervening years, although Roy Groenendyk is a current parent of a Form
2 boy!
The guys were really impressed with the physical developments of the school – particularly
the Ochse fellows! The Journey had them enthralled and many commented that they
wished they had had the opportunity of such a venture. The Auditorium was a hit, whilst
the squash courts were missed!
After cheering the Boks on in their game against Ireland, a spit roast was enjoyed and
there was much swapping of stories of College days and catching up on each other’s lives
today.
Another happy, laughter-filled Reunion was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

was being able to touch the live snakes he

all the learners involved in a combined

The Form 2 Platinum Day involved the

the College supports, namely Sungardens

Wetnose, Kungwini Welfare and Silverton

at all these facilities is greatly appreciated
by the projects and staff.
A few College Form 1 boys and staff were
able to celebrate Mandela’s birthday by
spending 67 minutes at St Augustine Leap

for their newly formed library. The second

fluffy toys to the children. The smiles and
songs sung by the toddlers were delightful.

fared well, having been on Journey they
knew to tie themselves into their sleeping
