Dylan Frittelli were
co-incidentally at UT
at the same time and
they met up socially on
a few occasions in Aus-
tin. (Craig and Dylan
played hockey together
at St Alban’s College.)
Craig then completed his MBA in his field of study, at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in
2016, at the same time doing his internships at the Miami Dolphins Football, Dalray Open
Tennis, Swimming academies and worked for Learfield Sports during these gruelling two
MBA years.
In May 2016 he was offered a position to work for the Houston Astros and Washington
Nationals, two baseball teams, at West Palm Beach, Florida. Craig was employed to
manage and run, from conception to completion, the Ballpark, a spring training facility
for all baseball teams.
Craig was by far the youngest member of the five executive team and now holds the title
of Marketing, Sales and Digital manager of The Ballpark of The Palm Beaches.
In November 2017, The Houston Astros baseball team, won the World Series Champi-
onship (like the Rugby World Cup our Springboks won in 1995) on home ground, for the
first time in their history. This was an amazing accomplishment and what made their
winning even more special, was the fact that the City of Houston was also still reeling from
Hurricane Harvey.

In recognition of the Astros winning, the baseball team and a handful of staff members
were awarded a specially and individually crafted gold, diamond and precious stones
commemorative ring, with each recipients name, on Tuesday 3rd and Thursday 5th April
respectively, at an award ceremony in Houston.
Apart from some of the younger players,
Craig is the youngest management staff
member to be recognized in this way and
to my knowledge, the only St Albans’s Old
Boy and South African to be awarded a
winning baseball World Series ring!
The most noteworthy part of Craig’s
achievement, however, is, that he is
still a non US citizen, having only been
sponsored his first US work visa in 2016,
with the renewal at the beginning of
this year. He showed great tenacity and
perseverance and his hard work ethic and
likable personality, convinced the Astros
owners, to continue sponsoring Craig in
his endeavour to attain his US citizenship.

Notably, Con Roux ’72 had a fabulous run made extra special as his daughter, Kirsty was
alongside him. Squire Flint ’93 was there again, as was Phetogo Monaisa ’06. From
Australia came Bryce Davey ’01 to complete his Comrades in 9:41. Wade Rosenberg,
father of Josh ’14 and Luke, HoS ’16, also completed the run.
