Dear Ochse Parents

Culture Week 2018

Culture Week is around the corner and, before we know it, we will be swept up in all the festivities
and excitement of the week. As many of you would know, we are trying something new this year
and the themes will only be announced next week on Thursday 26 July. This does mean the boys
will have a busy compulsory in-weekend preparing for all the necessary events for the Culture
Week.

I would like to invite all parents and families to come join us on Culture Day, Thursday 2 August 2018.
It is a fantastic opportunity to admire the talent in not only our house but in the College as a whole.
You will also be able to spend some time with the Ochse House community as we celebrate our
achievements.

Not only is the day full of activities, so is the week leading up to Culture Day; I have attached a
program at the end so you know what will be happening. Please note that you will be required to
book for some of the events that will take place in the Auditorium:

 Thursday 26 July 19:00 Final Countdown Concert St Alban’s College Auditorium
 Friday 27 July 19:00 All shook up Rockwood Theatre
 Wednesday 1 August Play Performance St Alban’s College Auditorium

Please note the Inter-house one act plays take place at 20:00 for parents on the 1st of August. It is
however wise to book early, as space can be limited. Bookings can be made at
[email protected]

Each house has been allocated 90 tickets to sell for the “All shook up” concert on Friday 27 July.
All parents are encouraged to attend and to bring friends. Bonus points will be awarded to the
houses that sell all their tickets. Please contact me if you would like to help sell tickets.

Please note I will be away during the Culture Week. Mr Blampied and the tutors will, however, be
available to help if you have any questions. Similarly, Mrs Savage and Mrs Pearce are requiring
parents to help with various events and I encourage anyone who is able to help to contact them.
I have attached a program for you to see when Ochse’s events are taking place. The boys will be
using the time in between programmed to prepare for later events.

Please check the scheduled program to see what is happening during the Culture Week. Come
down and enjoy the week with us. The boys always appreciate the support.

NOTICES
 Food Stalls will be available from 09:00-17:30 for Parents and Guests to purchase meals for
Lunch & Supper.

 A Refreshment Venue will be available outside the Auditorium from 12:00-14:00 to Parents,
Staff and Guests.

 The Pavilion Bar will be open to all Parents, Staff and Guests from 14:00 onwards.

 Everyone is encouraged to stay and socialize after the Prize Giving and the Final Assembly
are finished.
