WE PROVIDE CLOTHING AND SHOES
FOR LOCAL SCHOOL CHILDREN
OPERATION SCHOOL BELL is our signature philanthropic program. Our volunteers
work to fill clothing orders from counselors in Salem-Keizer schools and Head Start.
For many children in the greatest need, their warm winter coat, jeans, shirts, socks,
underwear and shoes are the first brand new clothes they’ve ever owned. At our JC
Penney Shopping Nights, middle school students shop for new clothes with the help
of Assistance League volunteers. High School and Chemawa Indian School students
receive a gift card and shoe voucher to be used in local stores.

SALEM-KEIZER RETAIL STORES
Our two retail consignment stores, Daue House Gift Shop and Encore Furniture Store, provide a major source of income to support our
philanthropic programs. Our shops have been voted among the Statesman Journal’s Best of Salem Awards in multiple categories for the past
several years. Each store offers gently used gift items, household furnishings and accessories with a focus on repurposing and reusing quality
goods. Daue House also sells gently used, donated clothing in our Second Edition section of the shop. Our two retail properties are Earthwise
