Greetings My Sister-Sorors,
It is my prayer that each of you had a safe and
restful summer. I have been reflecting on the
upcoming Sorority year and our “Delta Spiritual
Walk”. This has led me to Romans 12:4-8: “4 For
just as each of us has one body with many
members, and these members do not all have
the same function, 5 so in Christ (Delta) we,
though many, form one body, and each member
belongs to all the others.
"WALK IN THE DELTA SPIRIT and STAY WOKE!"
6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is
prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it
is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then
give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.” (NIV)
Regardless of the gift, you have been blessed with, walk in it with a spirit of humility and
thanksgiving.
Walking the “Delta Spiritual Walk” is using our gifts to let our work in the community
reflect Delta Love. Seeking opportunities to meet the needs of others; learning to keep our
hearts of compassion open, and taking the time to care with a servant’s heart. Give on
purpose and remember the many Jon-Jon's that will benefit from it. (If you do not know
who Jon-Jon is, ask Soror Bettina Pope)
KWF Alumnae is a part of the body of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and we must
remember that each member of the body serves a role not to be taken lightly. As we flow
through this sorority year use your gift to strengthen the body, grow the body, realizing a
limb without the body is lifeless. Stay committed to the virtues of the body. Not only are
we to serve, care, and give to those in our communities, let’s not forget the very ones that
we sit next to during committee meetings, chapter meetings, and serve along next to in
the community. She is our sister-soror, she is you, me and our gifts must be shared with
her too.
