terkait keadaan/ tindakan/kegiatan/ kejadian yang dilakukan/terjadi secara rutin atau
merupakan kebenaran umum, sesuai dengan konteks penggunaannya. (Perhatikan
unsur kebahasaan simple present tense)
4.7 Menyusun teks interaksi transaksional lisan dan tulis sangat pendek dan sederhana
yang melibatkan tindakan memberi dan meminta informasi terkait keadaan/ ndakan/
kegiatan/ kejadian yang dilakukan/terjadi secara rutin atau merupakan kebenaran
umum, dengan memperhatikan fungsi sosial, struktur teks dan unsur kebahasaan yang
benar dan sesuai konteks

Tujuan Pembelajaran
Setelah mengikuti proses pembelajaran dengan metode discovery based learning (DBL),
peserta didik diharapkan dapat:

• Mengidentifikasi fungsi sosial, struktur dan unsur kebahasaan dari kalimat
bentuk simple present tense, seperti :
a. Menentukan bentuk kata kerja (verb) yang digunakan dalam simple present
tense
b. Menentukan auxilary (kata kerja bantu) yang digunakan dalam simple
present tense

• Menyusun kalimat deklarative dan interogative dalam bentuk simple present
tense

A. Definition of Simple Present Tense

Simple present tense adalah This tense is used to express action in the present time,
habitual actions and general truths/facts.

Tenses yang digunakan ketika suatu kejadian sedang berlangsung saat ini ,
kejadian yang berlangsung berulang kali (kebiasaan) atau kejadian yang
merupakan kebenaran umum. Tenses ini merupakan tenses yang paling sering
digunakan dalam bahasa Inggris.

Simple Expresses action in the present time
Present 1. I am student in MTs GUPPI
Tense 2. She works as a teacher

Expresses general truth/fact
1. The sun rises in the east
2. The water boils in 100 degree celcius

Expresses habitual action
1. I wake up at 5 a.m everyday
2. She brush her teeth twice a day

B. Form of Simple Present Tense
Rumus simple present tense terbagi 2 macam yaitu kalimat verbal dan kalimat

nominal. Kalimat verbal adalah kalimat yang menggunakan kata kerja (verb),
sedangkan kalimat nominal adalah kalimat yang tidak menggunakan kata kerja.

Untuk membentuk kalimat verb tense ini , biasanya digunakan kata kerja bentuk
dasar, atau Verb 1. Kecuali untuk kata ganti orang ketiga, menggunakan Verb 1
+ s/es. Seperti ditunjukkan pada table dibawah ini.

Example :

The rules of verb for singular subject (she, he, it)

-es -ies -s

We add –es to verb We add –ies if the We add –s to all the

b. The form of simple present tense use nominal (adjective/noun/adverb)
