This year, we are excited that we are able to hold this signature event in person for the first time since 2019. Alpha Mu Omega Chapter takes immense pride in being a part of their journey, as these young women continue to grow into individuals poised to make a significant impact on the world. Each of our debutantes has actively participated in workshops and dedicated themselves to community service over the past several months. Their engagement with the Cotillion committee, workshop facilitators, and each other is truly commendable, and we are grateful for their dedication to this experience. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to our sponsors and generous donors, who have supported our debutantes, recognizing the importance of this event in their lives. Greetings Debutantes, Parents, Guests and Community Partners Welcome to the 2023 Debutante Cotillion and Scholarship Program. We are thrilled to be back at the Indiana Roof Ballroom after a brief hiatus due to the pandemic. I am grateful for our community who has returned with us, fully engaged and ready to participate. I am honored to serve as the 7th president of this esteemed organization and the vehicle that has given close to one-half million dollars in scholarships to Black women in Central Indiana since its inception. In 1975, our founders started with an idea to financially assist worthy young women who wanted to further their education and use their acquired knowledge to be of service to their race and be of service to all mankind. In 1979, they permanently cemented this guiding principle when they incorporated as Scholarship Fund, Inc. Today, now known as Ivy Endowment, Incorporated, we have not wavered in this endeavor. We remain committed to support youth and communities in Central Indiana through the granting of scholarships and by providing and supporting programs that serve to improve their quality of life. Tonight we will celebrate and uplift our Enchanted Pearls, twenty-five young ladies who will be presented to Indianapolis community. Ivy Endowment, Incorporated will continue to support them, even after tonight, as the soar into their futures. That is what the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated do! We want to thank the collective "village" for coming alongside and supporting us, as we support them. In Scholarship and Service, Dr. Katasha S. Butler President, 2022-2023 Ivy Endowment, Incorporated

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA SORORITY, INC. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated had its humble beginnings as the vision of nine college students on the campus of Howard University in 1908. Since then, the sorority has flourished into a globally-impactful organization of over 300,000 college-trained members, bound by the bonds of sisterhood and empowered by a commitment to servant-leadership that is both domestic and international in its scope. As Alpha Kappa Alpha has grown, it has maintained its focus in two key areas: the lifelong personal and professional development of each of its members; and galvanizing its membership into an organization of respected power and influence, consistently at the forefront of effective advocacy and social change that results in equality and equity for all citizens of the world. Soaring to Greater Heights of Service & Sisterhood Service and sisterhood have been the cornerstone of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® since 1908. With the theme Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood, the 2022-2026 administration seeks to build upon Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s rich legacy of service by galvanizing our sisterhood of more than 120,000 active members to lead on the front lines of change, education, and advocacy. This administration has six initiatives. Strengthen Our Sisterhood will serve as the administration’s “Foundation Initiative” as we strengthen our bonds to support our service mission. The remaining five initiatives will serve as the “Program Initiatives” which include: Empower Our Families, Build Our Economic Wealth, Enhance Our Environment, Advocate for Social Justice and Uplift Our Local Community These initiatives are designed to improve the lives of those we serve. We will work collaboratively to maximize our outreach on progressive endeavors and consistently produce leaders who will advance our credo of service. Strengthen our Sisterhood - For more than a century, our sisterhood has served as the foundation for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority to be an indomitable force for good—in our communities, states, nation, and the world. We will intentionally take time to fellowship and form lifelong relationships based on affinity, love, trust, respect, and shared goals and interests, while concurrently building on our foundation to serve others. Empower our Families - Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority has a strong history of supporting and servicing families, for we understand a healthy family is the foundation of a healthy community. We will take a multi-generational approach to fortify families within our communities by addressing child hunger and promoting positive youth development and leadership, mental well-being, and senior life. Build our Economic Wealth - Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority is launching our most progressive and revolutionary economic initiatives this century. This administration has created institutional-level solutions to combat institutional-level challenges. We will further encourage and equip our members to place key strategies into action to build personal, organizational, and community economic wealth. Enhance our Environment - Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority has the power to galvanize our organization of more than 120,000 active members, create a ripple effect, and make a significant impact on our environment. We will employ select strategies to optimize our collective ability and to improve and protect the environment at scale. We will prioritize activities that promote the adoption of more sustainable and responsible practices. Advocate for Social Justice - Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority always has been at the forefront of social justice to promote fairness and equity. We stand in the gap to empower our communities and act in the best interests of all people through social advocacy and justice. We will equip communities with the tools, knowledge, and support to activate their voices and mobilize self-help to empower communities to help themselves. Uplift our Local Community - Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority reigns supreme in its mission of “Service to All Mankind.” Given the engagement of more than 1,046 chapters across an international landscape, we have an ongoing history and reputation for making a global impact through local change. We will celebrate excellence, promote a focus on service, and stimulate effective culture and showcase best practices—”Local Change, Big Impact, and Global Showcase.”

Ivy Endowment, Incorporated Throughout the history of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, one of its national programs entailed giving scholarships, financial assistance and moral support to worthy young women who wish to attend a college or university and who will use their acquired knowledge and education to be of service to their race and to all mankind. In 1979, it was through the generosity of members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, as well as community members, with a passion for ensuring young women received financial assistance to further their education that facilitated the establishing of Alpha Mu Omega's scholarship fund. The founders and first officers of Scholarship Fund, Incorporated included Ruby Woodson, President; Lorene Turner, Vice President; Mildred Smith, Secretary; Emma M. Allison, Solicitor of Funds; Ula C. Barton, Treasurer; Pauline Craig, Thelma Cartwright and Marilyn E. Strayhorn, then President of Alpha Mu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. In 2006, the name of the corporation was changed to Ivy Endowment, Incorporated. Although there has long been a close partnership, in 2012, Ivy Endowment, Incorporated expanded its programming to officially include the annual Debutante Cotillion hosted by Alpha Mu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Today, Ivy Endowment, Incorporated annually continues to grant scholarships and other financial aid to women pursuing education beyond a secondary level. The organization is committed to providing and/or supporting educational programs that primarily impact at risk youth. In recent years, a mentoring program was established for scholarship recipients, pairing them with a member of Ivy Endowment to help navigate the transition into college.
