Outer Space

By Kadin Burkhart

The Sun is a star that is in the
middle of the Solar System.

The Sun is very big and
yellow.
The Sun is very hot.

Mercury is the planet
closest to the Sun.
It is brown and hot, but
not as hot as the Sun.
It is the 2nd smallest
planet.

Venus is bigger the mercury but
smaller than Earth
Venus is the hottest planet

It is brown and rocky and has a lot
of mountains

It has the tallest mountain in our
Solar System.

Next the Earth, the third planet
from the Sun, and it is the planet we
live on.
Earth has green land and blue seas.
We are the only planet with living
things on it.

The moon is a white and
gray.
It has a lot of craters in it.
We have sent people to the
moon before

Mars is a red and orange planet.
It has some craters and a lot of rocks.
Mars has no water on it.
It is really hot on Mars

The asteroid belt is
a ring of rocks the
separates
Mercury, Venus,
Earth, and Mars
from Jupiter,
Saturn, Uranus,
Neptune, and
Pluto

Jupiter is a Gas Giant and that
means it has a gas surface
and a hard core.
It is orange and white, but is
has one red spot where a
bunch of storms are.
Jupiter has rings like Saturn
but we can’t see them.

Saturn is yellow and white.
Saturn is the only planet that has
rings we can see.
The rings are made out of dust,
rocks, and comets.

Uranus is a blue and white
planet.
This planet also has rings
but we need a telescope to
see them.
It is very cold on Uranus
because it is far away from
the sun.

Neptune has very small rings
around it.
Neptune is very blue and dark.
Neptune is a very cold planet

Pluto is the smallest planet
in our Solar System.
It is the coldest planet in
our Solar System because
it is the farthest away from
the Sun.

Comets are rocks that
come flying through our
Solar System and
sometimes hit planets
along the way.
Some of them have even
hit planet earth.

This is the Milky Way
Galaxy.
This is the galaxy we
live in.
This galaxy holds
thousands of Solar
systems just like ours.

This is our universe.
It holds all our planets,
suns, moons, galaxies and
everything in between.

It holds billions and billions
of galaxies in it.
