As I write this letter I look out on a cool damp morning realizing that the end of the 2021 golf season
is knocking on our door. Let’s not answer it and hope it goes away! The reality though is that the end is
near for what was an amazing season.

We enjoyed welcoming many new pass holders this year and hope that the service, value and
experience that was provided will bring you back in 2022. If you have friends, co-workers and
neighbors please send them our way this offseason as we would love to have them be apart of SF
GOLF. Keep your eyes peeled for 2022 offerings and promotions coming soon.

The event season was also a smashing success with amazing participation. Not only did we see an
increase in players for many and most events we also saw a significant increase in new participants
and players that are not pass holders. This is a great sign that these events provide appeal and
enjoyment for everyone. As a staff we take great pride in offering fun, unique and professionally run
events and really enjoy these days. We thank you for your patronage and support. Next season we will
add some new fresh offerings at Kuehn Park “the hidden gem” and tweak/improve some of the other
offerings in an effort to make them even better. We can’t wait for 2022 and work has already begun.

Two constant comments and the frequent feedback in 2021 from all of you was about service and
course conditions. We appreciated so many of you noticing how busy we were but how much we cared
about the service experience. The daily “thank you” and respect you show staff goes a long way in
helping us provide a rewarding work place and we appreciate it very much. As far as course conditions
go every day we heard how great they were and most simply saying, “WOW”. There literally was not
one week this year that someone didn’t stop me or reach out about the amazing course conditions at
all three courses in 2021. Even with the summer drought and increased play our agronomy
professionals went above and beyond, and we can’t thank them enough for their efforts. I can assure
you they appreciate everyone noticing and the compliments.

Speaking of the golf courses as the season winds down. Our tentative plans for the courses pending
weather will be to close Kuehn Park October 24th for the season as we typically do first. We will then
continue to operate both Prairie Green and Elmwood until the weather really deteriorates. Then at a
certain point, yet to be determined, we will keep all 27 holes at Elmwood open this winter on days that
provide playing opportunity. You will begin to see many operation changes as the crews prep the
courses for winter. They will be shutting off the water fountains, bring in ball washers and benches,
blowing out the irrigation system, apply snow mold applications, sanding greens and even covering
some greens over the next month to protect the turf from the South Dakota winter ahead. Let’s hope
mother nature keeps giving us golf weather.

Remember if you hear the knock at the door……. Don’t answer it!
