"Weekend at Bernie's" has

comedy turns situation comedy, of course, with the expected antics of
trying to hide the fact that Bernie is dead. This silly movie is saved when it
takes a serious turn and the two young agents find out that their boss was
planning to have them snuffed to cover up his insurance fund
embezzlement. Now the fun begins as a dance between the boys and the
hired killer (who thinks Bernie is still kicking) creates tension that keeps
you glued to the screen.

I loved the movie! It was reminiscent of the old slapstick
movies of old. Each scene when the two main characters tried
to make people believe Bernie was alive was classic. And the
actor who played Bernie deserves an Oscar for playing dead
so well. How he managed not to blink, or move is beyond me.

The two main actors reminded me of the classic duo of Abbott If you're looking for
and Costello. a movie that

Of course, the movie wouldn't win any awards for its content "Weekend at
but for a good laugh, "Weekend at Bernie's" fits the bill to a tee. Bernie's". Sit back
I loved the locale for the movie as well. It was a great choice

relaxing, enjoying the good times when you're young.

I saw Weekend at Bernie's many years ago but
remember that it was hilarious. Basic premise
was that 2 guys were invited to their boss's
home for the weekend. They thought it was to
reward them for uncovering an embezzler. The
boss, being the embezzler himself, planned to do
away with them over the weekend.

chance to watch it - make sure
But, to further complicate matters, the boss was killed by the that you do. Although it is
hitman he had hired before the 2 guys arrived. It seems that Bernie slapstick and corny at times, it
(silly Bernie) had been fooling around with the hit man's wife!) is hilarious.
They didn't want to be accused of murder so they made it look like
Bernie was still alive all weekend. They propped him up and it
looked like Bernie was just a drunk having a blast! The hit man was
confused. He saw the "living" Bernie and had to kill him again.
Bernie became the creature who wouldn't die (lol) and the hit man
got very frustrated. The guys were oblivious to what was going on.
They just wanted to save their own skin.

One of the marks of a good movie is your ability to remember it
years later. Another indication is that you see everyday life
situations and reference back to the movie. I know that I've said,
on more than one occasion - that guy reminds me of Bernie in
Weekend at Bernie's if he was just "going through the motions"
and not exhibiting any enthusiasm or energy for what he was
doing.

Weekend at Bernie's is an 80's classic! Everyone should
see this movie, at least once, just to check out the style
and clothing from back in those days. It stars Andrew
McCarthy as Larry Wilson, Johnathon Silverman as
Richard Parker and Terry Kiser as the corpse of Bernie.
Larry and Richard are staying with Bernie at his Beach
House in Florida for a fun time but wake up to their poor
host having died in the middle of the night!

They need Bernie in order to continue getting the
special treatment and they decide to make Bernie their
very own ex-living marionette. This cheesy movie is
about their antics as they run around town with a
corpse and puppet him to feign his liveliness. Hilarious
and witty, this movie is sure to bring a smile to your
face as they try to keep Bernie upright and active and
even convince one of Bernie's lady friends in bed!

and I'm sure it can be found on a variety of streaming
services or a DVD could most likely be found on Amazon
or eBay.
