WONDER WOMAN

REVIEW SUBMITTED BY

echo44

I thought wonder woman was an ok movie. I honestly didn't know what to expect at first
but I found that it was a good story and the fact that she was naive to how she looked
added to the strength of being a strong female figure. She was ignorant to the men and
how they tried to protect her and cover her, she was fearless and not at all in tune to
being the typical "female".

The background of how she discovered her powers was a bit abrupt, they had her fight
and hurt her people but didn't go on to show how they felt and why she would remain
accepted. That part of the plot felt rushed. Travelling through the city half naked was
funny but it made you question that no one tried to arrest her considering she was half
naked and armed. Then the fact that she fell in love made it a bit cheesy and removed
some of that strength but that's show business. They have to add some sort of love story
since thats always expected in movies with pretty woman. I wished they showed a bit
more over the years that passed, again it felt a bit rushed. Gal played the role well, she's a
good actress. I think I saw her first in batman vs superman where she made a quick
appearance. That made me want to watch this movie. I felt empowered after i watched
the wonder woman movie and i think she's a good role model for young girls. Of course
they left it open for a sequel which I'm sure won't be as good as the first one. Sequels
usually just get worse and worse. Overall it was a fun movie to watch and pass the time

as the beautiful Gadot, who just happens to be
"wonder woman" in real life. She depicted this
character very well, if I must say so. Jenkins and the
team did a great job with casting. I had no shortage
of excitement, like everyone else, towards this
female-led superhero project, but like I said
previously, it’s plagued by the same problems that
dragged down previous visits to the DC movie
world: over-earnestness, over-done special effects,
and a messy, often wildly implausible plot. What
promised to be a glass-ceiling-smashing
blockbuster actually looks more like a badly
animated children's cartoon. I may be a little harsh,
but I expected more from DC comics, since it is my
favorite.

Unlike the tricky, self-serving Black Widow in There is crackling chemistry between Gadot and

We Need More Wonder Women

BY SBEAR0430

Definitely take your kids, especially your girls, to see this movie.
Yes, there's violence, but there's absolutely no blood or gore associated with it. Yes, there's some romance, but
it's not gratuitous. The romance teaches Diana that there is good in humanity when she was starting to have
doubts. It all had a point, including the one character getting drunk (all he did was sing in a bar though).
Things that could normally be seen as demerits to a movie were done so well in this one that they are outright
necessary to the plot. The director been addressed issues that normally bug me, like how can people who've
never encountered regular English-speakers know how to speak English? Why are the armor ensembles they
wear on the skimpier side? Yes! These are actually addressed and have answers that make sense! And despite
the short skirts, Diana is NEVER used as eye-candy.

She is used to show strength, and that is absolutely amazing. Now yes, I do recommend this movie for even
young kids. The messages of women being strong, not only Diana, but the other Amazons, and even Etta, is
one that little girls, and even us adult women, have lacked. Women in superhero movies have been created as
sidekicks, support characters, love interests to be saves, or as nothing more than gender-flipped Mae
characters. Diana is a hero in her very own right. Seeing her storm No Man's Land has choked up so, so many
people who otherwise don't get choked up at movies. That scene really starts to drive home how we have been
deprived of such a character, and makes us proud to be women, to finally see that strength very bluntly
splashed across the screen. People need saving, and she's not going to hide. This movie is a game-changer,
and a life-changer. We need more Wonder Women, and more Patty Jenkenses. The genie is out of the bottle,
and there's no point in trying to force it back in. We need more, and if we don't get more, we'll know what we're
missing
