In South Africa right now we know that the
Weather is acting a bit crazy, even for Winter! So
why not warm you up with a lovely hot Summer
edition? The sunny weather will be back in no time
(and this will make you look forward to it)!
Personally, I love August as it always reminds me of
going on Holiday, hence the palm trees on the
front cover.
Are there any things in particular that remind you
of Holidays? As you may have already guessed,
mine are palm trees and cacti!

LOS ANGELES

SAN FRANCISCO

"I was invited in February 2016 to a conference for a 5 minute
talk on Health Insurance in Lubumbashi, DRC.
From the small airport I was taken to the grand Karavia Hotel.

Driving around with no markings in the road is hectic and what is

The Saturday morning, I was driven to the CARF (Arrupe Centre
for Research and Training) where the conference took place. It
took place from 9am until 1pm and the whole conference was in
French which is the official language - when it was my turn to
speak I had an interpreter. After the conference we had lunch and
did some networking. In the evening, we went to visit the local
pubs and clubs. On the Sunday, I went to a massive Hyperpsaro
Supermarket where I noticed only men working as cashiers.
