EDITOR'S NOTE SEPTEMBER | 2018
This month on Toluna we're taking a nostalgic look back to our school days, with some

even have a new game, full of references and nostalgia from our own school days! Can you
tell that our team are kids of the 80s and 90s?

The Toluna Team
TOLUNA BRAIN TRAINER
In our efforts to make your time on Toluna more fun between surveys, we've created this
new Brain Trainer game!
There are three brain training levels:
1. Memory game to test your short-term memory
2. Trivia game to test your mental agility
3. Puzzle to test your visualisation and problem solving skills
Once you have mastered all three levels,
you'll unlock the competition game - a
pinball game that allows you to compete
against other Toluna members for
points. The five highest scorers from
each day will win 500 points, and at the
end of the contest period (8th October),
the person at the top of the leaderboard
will receive 7,000 points!
The leaderboard for the Brain Trainer game is constantly changing, but here's a recent snapshot!
ALSO THIS MONTH
TOLUNA DUX CONTEST
The Brain Trainer includes some trivia questions, but we want to test your knowledge even
further, and give you more chances to win points! Even if you weren’t the school dux during your
school days, you can be a Toluna Dux!
Until 5th October, look out for our quizzes that are based on a specific high-school subject.
There are four quizzes in total, and a new one will be available each week. If you answer every
question correctly across all subjects, you’re a Toluna Dux and deserve 10,000 bonus points!
TAKE THE HISTORY QUIZ!
How much do you remember from history
class? See if you can answer every question
Each new quiz will be published every Friday
until 5th October. Stay tuned on Toluna, so you
don't miss out!
Please note that if you decide to take the quizzes more than once, only your first set of
responses will count towards the Toluna Dux contest for the 10,000 points.
On each quiz, please provide the correct email address and username that is associated with
your Toluna account – you will not be eligible to win if this information is incorrect.

IT'S THIS MONTH'S SECRET CONTEST!
Our school days often seem like a distant blur, but it's impossible to think about those times
without reminiscing about the teachers. Everyone has at least one teacher who stands out, and
my year 12 physics teacher was definitely that person. Physics is not an easy subject, but
somehow this particular teacher made it easy to learn. Perhaps it was her enthusiasm and
ability to explain complex theories, but whatever it was that made this teacher stand out, I'm
writing about it many years later!
What about you? Tell us about a teacher from your school days - they can be someone you
admired or even the worst teacher you've ever had! Enter here and share why that teacher left
such a lasting impression on you.
We'll give you 300 points for participating*, and an additional 500 points to our favourite
stories or anecdotes. Points will be awarded after the Topic closes on 12th October 2018.
*Only valid comments will be rewarded. We won't reward you for randomly hitting keys on
your keyboard or copying and pasting comments from other members. If the link does not
