In honor of Valentine's Day this month, we selected


various movies, you voted and this movie,


The notebook, is the February Movie Pick.

"The Notebook, one of the greatest love stories ever written. A heartwarming story that
is surely to bring you to tears tells the tale of two young lovers in the 1940's.


Both Canadian actors portray this story beautifully making their love story a reality in

real life! The story proves to its audience what true love really is - showing the good
times and the bad times. Like Romeo and Juliet, the characters were forbidden to love as

young lovers, leaving Noah and Allie to live their own lives apart from one another. A
tragic event brings Allie back to her home town - already engaged to another young
man, where she meets Noah only to fall back in love with him. A must see and the

perfect date night movie. Bring your kleenex!"

The Notebook

"Based on the novel with the same name, this is a
wonderful romance drama about two people who
fall in love but become separated by events in their
lives.


Set in the 1940's, the story begins to feel like a

typical poor boy falls for rich girl theme, but there is
a twist that brings the story together in the end.
Throughout the movie you follow the blossoming

love between Noah and Allie, two people with very
different social backgrounds and personalities, yet
each one has something that perfectly matches the

other.

During this time period, it was common for people

to stick to their own social class, which is why Noah
feels pressure to become something more so that he
would be worthy of Allies love. Problems arise when

a wealthy suitor grabs her attention after Noah
chooses to leave and make something better of
himself.Though separated, neither lost the strong

feeling and attraction that eventually brings them
back together.


Instead of spoiling the rest, I will say that the
ending was a beautiful mixture of sadness and joy,
which is something that anyone can empathize with.

A great watch for anyone who loves romance,
drama, intrigue and appreciates emotional endings."

“Nicholas Sparks made such a romantic love story with The Notebook. It’s one of my
favourite films & novels of all time because it's not just for the young lover side generation that’s
drawn into it - it's has great appeal for older, mature adults too.

The Notebook is a romantic movie set in 1940's about two lovers, Noah and Allie, who spend a
delightful summer together in South Carolina. The couple falls quickly in love only to run into a few
conflicts down the road. Allie is from a very wealthy family and Noah is a mill worker who comes

from a very poor family. Due to this circumstance, the realities of the time prevented the two from
seeing each other. This part of the movie shows the conflicts of social classes among relationships in
the morning 40's. Despite their differences, Noah continues to fight for Allie with every ounce of love
in his body. Relationships can often be complicated, and life can often be hard, but it is something
that you have to work with to get to where you want to be. One of my favorite quotes from the
movie is when Noah gives Allie advice, "You can’t live your life for other people. You've got to do
what's right for you, even if it hurts some people you love." This is my favorite quote because it is
something that I often need to remind myself as well. Noah is telling Allie to do what’s best for her
and to think about herself for once instead of letting the worlds expectations get in the way.

I recommend this movie to everyone because I believe it shows the true definition of love
between two people. The Notebook has lots of conflict and challenge within it but no matter what
Noah keeps trying to push through and move forward with his life. I believe this movie is one of the
best romantic dramas out there and hope other people enjoy it as much as I did."

"The Notebook; probably one of the most beautiful stories of love ever written in the
modern age, and the movie had me hooked instantly. It is both tragically heartbreaking

and overwhelming heartwarming, beautifully done with actors who's passion on screen
had us convinced and eagerly rooting for the whole thing to end with the beautiful
lovers together in the end, not having been able to be together after that first magical

summer they shared, despite their major societal differences which was what tore them
apart initially; her father severing their love and hope for future when it came time to
leave the luxury vacation home and for Allie to go home with the family, and then off to

university, leaving Noah a heart shattered wreck for many years. Despite the roller
coaster of ups and downs, trials and tribulations, the desperation, despair, passion and
never ever losing hope or love for one another, in the end, the movie leaves you bawling

your eyes out in the very end scene especially, an ending so touching, beautiful and
somehow poetically tragic, it leaves our hearts aching, and faces moistened with tears."

"I believe The Notebook is an amazing movie. The film is sweet and sentimental. It is a

wonderful film that shows true love is real and pure. It has ups and downs and is overall
an emotional movie. Great movie for couples to watch. The actors are great and do a
wonderful job in this film. This film had a great story line and an even better ending. This

is one of my favorite movies, it is both emotional as well as memorable. The notebook will
always be my go to movie about love. It is my all time favourite classic love story, I've

seen it many times and get emotional every time. I would give this movie a 10 out of 10
for the story line, the actors and the wonderful ending. Very well put together film"
