encouraging positive lifestyle choices that can improve your health and well-being. Follow us
on Toluna for our posts and tips, and feel free to share your experiences with the community!

BREAST CANCER AWARENESS:

FACTS & FIGURES

ON AVERAGE

1 in 8 women are

at risk of developing

breast cancer.

Chances are, you already know someone who has
been diagnosed or suffered from this disease.

BUT IT DOESN'T JUST AFFECT WOMEN

For men, the lifetime

risk of being diagnosed

with breast cancer is

about 1 in 1000.

Simply put, cancer occurs when cells in the body grow out
of control. All of us have breast tissue, regardless of gender.

Globally, nearly 1.7

million new breast

cancer cases are

diagnosed every year.

PAGE 3

GOES PINK!

HOW TO LOWER THE RISK?

These figures are worrying, but thankfully there are a few steps we can take to lower the risk:

Limit your alcohol intake

Quit smoking

Maintain a healthy weight
Stay active

Eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables

WHAT'S TOLUNA DOING THIS MONTH?

Apart from turning the community pink, our team has been involved in offline activities and
fundraising to show solidarity and bring even more awareness to this cause.

Our team in Paris just took part in the

Odyssea charity run. Despite the rain,
it was good fun!

Our staff also dressed in pink for a day!

This month, our challenge to you is to
take up one new healthy habit. Maybe
you want to drink more water each day or

take the stairs rather than the lift or
escalator. Whatever it is, tell us about it
on Toluna!

NEW CONTEST & GAME

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are taking the opportunity to encourage more
healthy lifestyle choices. To do this, we have a new game and contest from now through to
9th November.

First, play the Toluna Food Slicer game at au.toluna.com/games

This game is designed to keep you thinking about they types of food you eat. We all crave a
burger or sugary snack every now and then, but in the interest of having a healthy October, try
to cut them from your diet!

You can play once a day, so see if you can beat your personal best and land at the top of the
leaderboard.

Next, participate in surveys like you normally do. The more you complete, the better chance

you have of winning the big bonus!

We admit that the questions in the quizzes were challenging. We thought it would be boring to
have questions that could be easily Googled. To satisfy your curiosity, here are the answers

SWEET OR SAVOURY?

Being healthy doesn't mean you can't have a snack every now and then. When reaching for a

snack, our members are pretty evenly split between sweet and savoury. However, before this
poll was posted, we thought there would be a stronger preference for sweets. Does this mean
many people are actively cutting sugar from their diets?

AVOCADO, ANYONE?

On the topic of good food, have you noticed how
avocados have become super popular in the past few
years? Well, 50% of Toluna members can't get enough
of them - and our team agrees!

What's your favourite way to eat avocado? Share it
with the community!

ARE YOU CONCERNED WHEN IT COMES TO

GENETICALLY MODIFIED FOODS?

We recently asked: Should all products that are genetically modified be required to have clear
labels stating they are GMOs? Not surprisingly, 81% of members have said yes. If you have
different opinions about this, share it with us!
