BOLD AMBITION

Alan Boudreau

Uprooting from Cincinnati and relocating to California, Alan
Boudreau was eager to start his new journey working for his father’s
plumbing business. Beginning in the ditches as a laborer, his
motivation and hard work had quickly escalated him up to a
foreman position. Determined to continue advancing, he decided
his next step was learning how to operate a backhoe rather than
hiring an outside company for their jobs. For a few hours after each
work day, their owner-operator would allow Alan to borrow his
backhoe and teach himself how to operate it. He practiced digging
ditches and filling them back up, becoming his new past time and
hobby. A few months went by, and Alan was ready to operate his
own backhoe. With this new addition of skill and equipment to his
father’s company, they (added underground utility to their work and
current projects.

In 1996, the unforeseen and unfortunate happened. After 8 years of investing in his father’s plumbing
business, they took a turn for the worst and closed their doors. Although that did not stop Alan, he
purchased the backhoe from his father and began to run his own operating business called A&B
Equipment. Alan had worked to develop such great rapport with his customers that it only took one
willing enough to o er him the chance to bid to their own client’s upcoming project. Alan took a shot at
bidding to RGC, who was building 41 homes and needed 3,500 feet of pipe. He was awarded the
$183,162 project, which launched the start of his new company Boudreau Mechanical in 1997. In their
first year they had a total of 6 jobs reaching and nearly one million in annual revenue. Shortly after
conquering his first year, they landed a larger project with John Laing Homes, which was the turning
point in their homebuilding career. In 2000, Boudreau Mechanical was incorporated and became what
we know it as today, Boudreau Pipeline Corporation.

By 2007, Boudreau Pipeline had reached nearly $20 million in annual revenue and had a strong grasp in
the residential and commercial building market. Even through the recession, they weren’t defeated. Due
to great leadership and teamwork, Boudreau Pipeline prevailed and grew beyond the downturn’s
struggles. Today in 2020, Boudreau Pipeline exceeded $60 million in annual revenue and has almost 340
employees in the field and o ce combined. Their service expands through most of the Southern
California’s region, continuing to complete projects for the industry’s leading builders, municipalities,
utilities and contractors.
