Event Milestones And Highlights
First China MICE Conference:
Moving China’s MICE Knowledge Economy Forward
The inaugural China MICE Conference debuted this year, adding to the show’s dedicated knowledge
programme including the Association Days Forum. The purpose-built Education Hub in partnership with
Tempus Group, addressed the current incentive, luxury and inbound travel trends revolving around China’s
burgeoning MICE and cruises industry. The challenging and engaging component welcomed speakers from
organisations and associations like China Business Events Federation, CITS International, CTS MICE
Service, Feikong Bao, Hainan MICE Association, M.I.E., MSC Cruises Shipping Service, SITE, Tempus
Group, Travel Events Asia, TUI China Travel, and World Tourism Cities Federation.
Collaborating with IT&CM China on the education hub is a great fit for us as we
feel strongly about opportunities for our customers and the industry at large to better
understand current trends and knowledge impacting our profession.
Tempus Group | Ike Zhang, Vice President
China Business Events Federation (CBEF)
Officiates Launch At IT&CM China 2018
Supporting association CBEF formalised their launch of the committee
and the China Standardization of Business Events initiative at the Official
Opening Ceremony and Welcome Reception at IT&CM China 2018. The
federation aims to expand China’s MICE footprint, spearheading the launch of
guidelines for national conventions and MICE associations to raise the industry’s
sophistication nationwide to compete globally.
Members of CBEF helmed the highly-acclaimed Keynote Address at IT&CM China
and welcomed thought-leaders from China’s MICE industry to share knowledge and
experience on the market’s potential for growth.
China’s MICE industry is onto its next wave of growth, one that is dependent
on our collective ability to propel our standards and competitive advantage to
the next level. Along with like-minded association counterparts, we are excited
to leverage on IT&CM China to reach out to our fellow peers at large.
China Business Events Federation | Alicia Yao, Vice President
Reaching Out In More Ways Than One
Major exhibiting destination Macao hosted a luncheon and daily networking cocktails for industry
stakeholders to mingle and learn about Macao’s latest offerings. Returning exhibitor Argentina intensified
their partnership this year, with a 100% pavilion increase, destination presentation to Associations, hosted
dinner and post-event FAM trip happening this September.
EXO Events hosted the pre-show Shanghai city tours for buyers and media, while Thaiwoo Ski
Resort extended the same hospitality post-event at its 2020 Olympic Ski Resort near Zhangjiakou.
Over at CTW China, Diamond Sponsor American Airlines and co-organisers Carlson Wagonlit Travel
hosted exclusive luncheons for corporate travel managers, while Gold Sponsor China Eastern provided
4 networking coffee breaks for delegates at the corporate travel conference.
Our luncheon allowed for a more targeted approach to get our brand message
across to key Chinese buyers and was an informal session to get to know buyers and
their needs while promoting IPIM as a one-stop service.
Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute | Irene Va Kuan Lau, Executive Director
IT&CM China has been an excellent opportunity for Argentina to get to know and engage
with Chinese decision makers while showcasing the extensive services that Argentina Tourism
Board can offer its visitors. All buyers invited expressed a huge interest in our destination,
reaffirming our continued work on promotional efforts for China and Asia markets.
National Institute of Tourism Promotion, Argentina | Emora Franco, Meeting Industry Coordinator
CTW China is a good fit for us to establish relationships with our Pacific Joint Business partners and grow our B2B relationships
with corporate and MICE group buyers. We chose a luncheon to engage our desired audience here because of the informal and
relaxed setting amidst good food, allowing us to share the benefits American Airlines has to offer the Chinese market.

The TRAVEX Matching Process
The unique and specialized TRAVEX makes it easy and convenient for
suppliers of ASEAN tourism products and services and international
buyers to conduct business and meet quality participants. Both
parties can maximize their participation through flexible one-to-one
pre-scheduled meetings to explore, negotiate and ink deals with one
another.
1. ATF 2017 provides for 42 business appointment slots per one booth /
SELLER Full Delegate.
2. The duration for each appointment is 15 minutes.
3. Matching priority is given to the PERFECT MATCH i.e when both a
BUYER and SELLER have requested to see each other.
Onsite Business Appointments Scheduling Session
The On-site Appointments Scheduling Session is intended to give
BUYERs and SELLERs an opportunity to secure the remaining
appointments in addition to their pre-matched appointments. It is
designed to give all participants equal access to BUYERs/SELLERs of their
choice for supplementary appointments after the pre-matching process.
ATF 2017 Mobile Apps
Full Delegates and Buyers are to download ATF 2017 mobile apps via
their smart phone prior to the TARVEX Sessions to be held on 19 January
2017.
Full Delegates and Buyers will use this ATF 2017 mobile apps to scan
each other QR code printed on the badge before commencing each
business appointment slot.
No-Show Business Appointments
The ATF 2017 mobile apps will track Full Delegates and Buyers business
appointments attendance.
Every effort will be made by the ATF 2017 TRAVEX Secretariat to secure
explanations from participants for any “no-shows”.
Unjustified or unexplained “no-shows” by either BUYER or SELLER may
cause the ATF 2017 TRAVEX Secretariat to recommend the concerned
participants for blacklisting in future ATFs.
Info is subjected to changes and is as at 28 December 2016.
