Vendors who produce their own products are invited to book in for the four days of the market which will take place June 24th, July 22nd, August 19th, and September 23rd. By Grant Lewis - We know many people, if not everyone, are shocked at the price of food today. But……there are alternatives and the price is right! Foraging for edibles in the wild, also known as Horta hunting, has been around for centuries. Of course, the problem is figuring what is edible and what is not. Well the Espanola Gardeners can help you out. Sari Huhtala, from Spanish is an expert and will be sharing her expertise on Monday, June 12th at the Northern Life Church at 7:00 p.m. There are many wild edibles in the forest, around your house and in your garden. Sari Huhtala Presentation Sagamok-Anishnawbek First Nation Opens New Detachment Elder Manitowabi told the gathering “The police can’t do it alone. We have to work with them to make sure our community is safe. The local detachment now has five officers and one sergeant. The new detachment building itself features two holding cells, a fingerprint room, and an IT/Guard Monitoring Room, as well as a sally port entry garage, hard and soft interview rooms, a family room, a conference room, and administrative spaces. A welcome addition is the four new pod units for officers to use when not on duty, allowing them to stay in the community between shifts rather than commuting each day. Each pod is a furnished bedroom unit with access to on-site kitchen and laundry facilities. A community barbecue was held following the ribbon-cutting providing an opportunity to meet the new officers, talk about policing programming, and networking with the community leaders. She will demonstrate ways to harvest and preserve all this good stuff. Sari is the publisher and founder of Alive+Fit Magazine. The magazine was 14 years in print and is now digital. She also owns 70 acres of pristine old growth forest on the shores of the North Channel with meandering trails, protected wetlands and spectacular vistas. The Laughing Forest connects one with nature, and is ripe with edible food. So please join us on the 12th, for a very interesting evening. Everyone welcome and bring a friend. Espanola’s Economic Development Initiates Hosting Second Year Of Marketing The market, which will be held in the downtown municipal parking lot on Tudhope Street, will feature fresh products, florals, homemade goods, furniture and crafts, and special gift items. Email [email protected] for more information on booking a space.

They had three children, Rhonda (1962), Dawna (Steve), and Ralph, whom they were extremely proud of. In 1991, Olga became a Baba, her most cherished role.
