INTRODUCTION
Voximix CC is a registered wholly black- empowered Public Relations
Consultancy based in Tzaneen, in the Limpopo Province of South Africa.
This PR firm is the brainchild of Leon Nkhwashu, a seasoned Public
Relations Specialist with over 10 years’ experience working for large
South African brands including mining giant De Beers, Pay TV station
M-Net and state-owned enterprise Limpopo Economic Development
Corporation (Limdev). Our services include, among others, profiling
company executives and social responsibility initiatives; event
management; internal communications strategy development;
stakeholder engagement strategy development and media campaigns.

Voximix CC is deemed to have a BBBEE status of Level 3
Contributor and procurement recognition of 100%. 110% of what your
company spends with this company can be counted as BEE spend.

OUR PURPOSE/MISSION

To turn Public Relations disasters into lasting swagalicious impressions.

We define swag by the way you carry yourself, your overall confidence and
style. Swag is something many strive to gain but few actually attain.

OUR VISION

To be the leading Public Relations Agency of choice in Limpopo by 2014.

We will help our clients swag up their corporate image through decisive
implementation of strategic media campaigns and stakeholder engagement
processes that have been tried and tested and yet stood the test of time.

OUR VALUES

The following principles represent WHO WE ARE and what we stand for:

● Passionate about what we do. There’s got to be swag in everything we do.

● Pay attention to detail. The devil is in the detail.

● We care about people and brands.

● Time is money. Therefore, we believe in doing things right the first time

● Mutually beneficial relationships built on trust.

EXPERIENCE

To successfully run a Public Relations Consultancy, we believe it is
significant that management has an all-round knowledge and experi-
ence in the field of practise. As a result, before forming this PR Agency,
NKhwashu spent over 10 years of his working life, serving large multi-
nationals in the capacities of Public Affairs manager (De Beers Finsch
Mine, Northern Cape); Stakeholder relations and sponsorship specialist
(De Beers Headquarters, Johannesburg); Corporate Social Responsibil-
ity Practitioner (De Beers Venetia Mine, Musina); Publicity Officer
(M-Net, Randburg) and Media Relations Officer (Limpopo Economic
Development Agency, Polokwane).

Whilst working as Corporate Responsibility practitioner at De Beers
Venetia Mine, Nkhwashu received awards for outstanding achievement
by the Far North Print Media Association and Venetia Mine General
Manager. Over the years, Nkhwashu built a network of professional
relationships with the media; government and political leaders particu-
larly in Limpopo, his home base.

COMPETITIVE EDGE
As a PR Agency doing business in the predominantly rural Limpopo, we
understand the significance of working with tribal authorities and communi-
cating with indigenous communities in their own local languages.

SERVICES RENDERED
We offer a variety of ‘tried and tested’ Public Relations services that include:

● Stakeholder engagement/Public Participation
Effective stakeholder engagement is used as a means to obtain wider
community support for projects, enhance corporate reputation and
provide for more sustainable decision-making. Potential spin-offs from
the engagement process will include strengthening democracy by
encouraging active involvement by communities.

Without engaging stakeholders there can be no ownership and
support for a particular project or initiative.

● Media Relations/Publicity
The media is a key player in getting the company’s messaging across
to its various target publics. We strive to ensure our customers remain
visible to their target publics using the following media opportunities:
- Profiling CEOs and other company executives
- Press Release writing
- Media Lunches
- Advertising in Trade Publications

MANAGEMENT AND OWNERSHIP

Leon Nkhwashu – Owner and Director
Stakeholder engagement Advisor; Media Strategist; Event Manager and
Social Responsibility Specialist. Nkhwashu has worked on some of South
Africa’s leading brands including mining giant De Beers; Pay TV Station
M-Net and State-owned enterprise Limpopo Economic Development Agency
(Limdev).

THE PUBLIC RELATIONS MARKET IN LIMPOPO

In a rural province like Limpopo, radio is predominantly influential, led by
SABC local language channels such as Thobela FM, Phalaphala Fm, Mung-
hana Lo’nene Fm. These are followed by commercial broadcaster, Capricorn
FM and a whole range of community and campus radio titles.

Other key mass media channels are print titles such as Daily Sun, Sowetan
and SABC’s free-to-air TV channels and privately-owned eNews.

More affluent and business readers are influenced by a cross-section of pg. 4
business titles such as Sunday Times, Business Day, The Star and City
Press. Meanwhile, Beeld and Rapport lead opinion in the Afrikaans
community.

The majority of Public Relations Agencies doing business in Limpopo
are mainly from Gauteng. Most of these consultants specialise in event
management with the public sector, both at provincial and local levels,
as their major client.
It is against this background that we would like to position ourselves as
a force to be reckoned with within the Limpopo PR circles as we fully
understand the socio-political dynamics of the province.

Limpopo is a predominantly rural province with high levels of illiteracy
mainly in the villages and therefore, the ability to speak the various
indigenous languages of Venda, Sepedi and Tsonga is vital for stake-
holder engagement purposes.

BUSINESS GOALS /AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
• To create new jobs as it relates to the national challenge.

• To help our clients leave a lasting legacy within communities
affected by their operations.

• To help our customers swag up their public image.
