2014 NUTMEG STATE GAMES
The shooting sports in the NUTMEG State Games will be hosted by the Blue Trail
Range, Wallingford Connecticut, on June 13 & 14, 2014. Complete details and on-line
registration for the games can be found on their website at www.nutmegstategames.org (or use
the form at the end of this article). Out-of-state shooters are welcome to participate; out-of-state
medallions will be awarded. Dates are as follows:
June 13 NUTMEG State Games Air Rifle (60 shots / males; 40 shots / females; rifles available for use).
June 14 – 8AM
Fired in the Air Rifle Range. (Additional relays can be squadded if required). Call Blue Trail Range at 203-269-
3280 for squadding for air rifle ONLY—ask for David Lyman (or call him on cell at 203-915-9803).
NUTMEG State Games Smallbore Rifle Registration. No later please!
June 14 – 9AM NUTMEG State Games Smallbore Rifle Prone & 3-Position Match
Prone: English Match—60 Shots. Metallic Sights. (Seniors can fire scope—50 years or older—as of 12/31/14).
A23/5 Target. You MUST FIRE in the prone match if competing in the 3-Position Match as Stage 1 and Stage 2
are used for the Prone portion of the 3-Position Match.
NUTMEG State Games Smallbore Rifle 3-Position Match
(40 shots unfired prone—Stage 1 and Stage 2 of Prone Match), standing, and kneeling at 50 yards). Metallic
Sights. A23/5 Target. (Senior Category can fire scope—50 years or older—as of 12/31/10).
RULES: NRA rules govern the Smallbore shooting events. Metallic sights. Seniors can
use scope (50 years or older—as of 12/31/14). New shooters can be placed in “tyro” category for
smallbore rifle for own awards and can be coached. NRA International rules will govern air gun
events (with the exception of the clothing requirement).
AWARDS: An awards ceremony will be held at the completion of the match—(not to last
longer than 15/20 minutes)—please wear t-shirt for ceremony! Gold – Silver – Bronze
Medallions are awarded in each of the events based on the total number of competitors in each
region and in each age category. Males and females compete in their own class.
FEES: Match fees for the NUTMEG State Games are $25 per competitor. Entry fee
includes your registration/processing/insurance fee, NUTMEG State Game T-Shirt and
Medallions. Entries will be accepted up to time of firing; advance call would be appreciated so I
have enough cover for firing points. Remember that if you are shooting in more than one event
in the NUTMEG State Games, you only pay a one-time $25 fee.

ATHLETE’S WAIVER, PLEDGE AND CONSENT AGREEMENT
In consideration of the acceptance of my entry into the competition known as the Nutmeg State Games, I, intending to be legally bound, do hereby for myself, my heirs, executors and
administrators, waive, release and forever discharge any and all rights and claims for damages, including any claims for loss, damages or injury to my person or property arising out of the
performance or failure of performance of the State of Connecticut, the Nutmeg State Games, any and all sponsors, groups providing sanction or approval, owners of sites, and/or the respective
officer/agents, representatives, successors and/or assigns of the parties named above for any and all claims for damage to person or property sustained by me in connection with, association
or entry in, and/or arising from activity related to the Nutmeg State Games.
I have full knowledge that the sport in which I have entered carries significant risk of personal injury, in some cases very severe injury, even death. I also agree that I am responsible for my
own safety.
I declare that to the best of my knowledge, I am in good physical condition and have no disease or injury that would be aggravated by my participation in activities related to the Nutmeg
State Games.
I, also, declare on my honor that I am an amateur and fulfill the conditions stipulated by the Nutmeg State Games. I agree that if I am selected for competition at the Finals of the Games, I
will compete in the Games, keep myself in top physical condition, retain my amateur status and make myself available for training wherever and whenever possible. I will also appear and
participate in the Opening Ceremonies and report to the press tent for pictures, interviews, as directed by Nutmeg State Games authorities.
I understand that the consumption of alcoholic beverages or nonprescribed drugs at any Nutmeg State Games venues, events or dormitories is strictly prohibited and that failure to conduct
myself in a socially responsible manner (to be determined by Nutmeg State Games authorities) will result in immediate expulsion from the Nutmeg State Games. I hereby consent to allow my
picture or likeness to appear in any official documentary, sponsor advertisement or exclusive television coverage of the Nutmeg State Games in any manner incidental to my participation in the
Nutmeg State Games and without compensation to me. I declare that I have personal medical coverage and that I have read all of the above and understand the release and waiver, and by
signing it agree to all its items.
BY ENTERING AND PARTICIPATING IN THE NUTMEG STATE GAMES, ALL ATHLETES AGREE TO ABIDE BY THE RULES, REGULATIONS AND DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS OF THE
GAMES’ ADMINISTRATORS.
IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ATHLETE TO FOLLOW ALL RULES. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN SUSPENSION, EXPULSION AND/OR FORFEITURE.
