Mahavajiralongkorn Rajavidyalaya Campus was the first campus of Mahamakut Buddhist University. The local
people called Wangnoi Buddhist College. It is located in Wat Choojitthammaram, Sanab-teub Sub- district, Wangnoi
district, Ayutthaya province. This institute was created by the Holy Supreme Patriarch XVI (Somdet Phra Ariyawongsakatayan
Sodet Phra Sangharat, Juan Utthayee), Wat Makutkasattariyaram, and it was succeeded by Somdet Phra
Phutthachinnawong (Phrajoab Kantajaro), former Rector of Mahamakut Buddhist University.
After the Holy Supreme Patriarch XVI of Thailand passed away on 18th December, 1971, there were respected
monks such as Somdet Phra Yannasangworn Somdet Phra Sangkharat, Wat Bovornnivesviharn, Somdet Phra
Phutthachinnawong (Prajaob Kantajaro), Wat Makutkasattariyaram, Somdet Phra Yannavarodom (Phrayoon Santankaro)
Wat Thepsirintaravas, Phra Thammawarachan (Ban Kittisaro) Wat Bovornnivesviharn, Phra Thepmethajarn (Suwan Kanjano)
Wat Makutkasatariyaram, Phra Theppanyakawi (Bunjong Kalito) Wat Makutkasattariyaram, Phra Ratchathammachetiyajan
(Viriyoung Sirintharo) and Phra Ratchsutthimogkol (Manul Thitapanyo) Wat Makutkasattariyaram. All of the mentioned monks
continued to build this Buddhist College and completed it in 1973. At first it was called Mahamakut Buddhist Academic
Council, Wangnoi Campus or Wangnoi Buddhist College.
Nowadays MBU Mahavajiralongkorn Rajavidyalaya Campus offers Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree courses.
There are Buddhist monks and novices and laymen studying in this campus. The authority of the campus gained
approval to establish Pra Chin Burin Academic Center in 1998. Nowadays Phrakittisarasudhi is the Vice-Rector of
Mahavajiralongkorn Rajavidyalaya Campus. This campus offers 3 Bachelor’s degree courses. Philosophy, English Teaching,
and Political Science. For Graduate School, the campus offers 4 Master’s degree courses: Buddhist Studies, Political
Science, Philosophy and Buddhist Studies, and Educational Administration.

Mahamakut Buddhist University, Sirindhorn Rajavidyalaya Campus was built on 11th
February, 1990 following the order Ref. No. 21/1990 to be the second campus called Omnoi
Campus. In 1994, HRH Princess Sirinthon named of campus as Sirindhornrajavidyalaya Campus,
and gave the abbreviation of SRC. as the seal of campus. Nowdays Phrapariyattidhammamethi
Vittaya is the Vice-Rector of the campus.
MBU Sirindhornrajavidyalaya campus has offers Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree
courses. There are Buddhist monks and laymen studying as students at this campus. Bachelor’s
degree, the campus offers four majors; Buddhist Studies, Sociology and Anthropology, Political

Mahamakut Buddhist University, Lana Campus, is the fourth campus of Mahamakut
Buddhist University. It was established by Phra Thammadilok (Jan Kussaro) General Governor of
Ecclesiastical Region 4-5-6-7 (Dhammayutti). At that time, he was Phra Thepkawi. This campus
is approved by supported by Chiang Mai Buddhist Council and Alumni of Mahamakut
Buddhist Council. Chiang Mai Buddhist Council was approved to use Wat Jedeeluang as
the location and opened the education in 2000.
Mahamakut Buddhist University, Lanna Campus offers education for the people in
Chiang Mai province, and it is very well-known in the north of Thailand. There are many
students studying in at campus. Nowadays the campus has increased the capacity of the
campus to receive more students. This project is supported by the Royal Thai Government.
At the present, Phrakrusundaramahacejetiyanurak, Asst. Prof. Dr. is vice-rector of the Lanna
campus. This campus offers 4 majors; Thai Language teaching, English teaching, Buddhism
and Political Science including Master’s degree courses.

Roi Et Campus was an Academic Center of Mahamakut Buddhist University in 1992. Then, it was
approved to be a campus as Roi Et Campus on 6th July, 1994. Somedet Phra Yannasangwon Somdet Phra
Sangkharat received land at Wat Laosomboon (Wat Srithongpaiboonwararam) to establish the campus as
a permanent location of Mahamakut Buddhist University, Roi Et campus.
Mahamakut Buddhist University, Roi Et campus provides education for Buddhist monks and novices
and lay people. The campus has opened both Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree. Mahamakut Buddhist
University, Roi Et Campus has two academic centers in Surin and Srisaket provinces. Nowadays Phrakruvicit-
dhammabharana, Asst. Prof. Dr. is the vice-rector of the campus. Roi Et offers 8 subjects in Bachelor’s degree:
Philosophy, Sociology and Anthropology, Thai Language Teaching, English Teaching, Buddhist Studies,
Political Sciences, Primary Education, and Early Childhood. The campus also offers Master’s degree and
Doctoral Degree.

Mahamakut Buddhist University, Srilanchang campus was approved to be a campus of Mahamakut
Buddhist University following the approval of Mahamakut Buddhist academic council Ref. NO. 1/2538 on
28th March, 1995. Mahamakut Buddhist University consideres education to be very important for Buddhist
monks and novices as well as laymen. The campus has been located in Wat Srisutthawas, Mueang district,
Loei province and is the Ecclesiastical educational center for upper northeast of Thailand, including Laos
and China.
At present, the campus provides education in various subjects both in Bachelor’s degree and Master’s
degree. The campus has one acadmic center in Chumpae district. Nowadays Phramaha Wichian Dhammavajiro, Dr.
is the vice-rector of Srilanchang campus, for Bachelor’s degree, the campus offers 5 subjects: Political
Science, Early childhood, community department, English, and English Teaching.

Mahamakut Buddhist University, Srithammasokaraja campus was established by Phra
Thammarattanopat (Pradap Opaso). The campus is named after King Srithammasokaraja, the first
king of Nakornsrithammaraja city in the past. He built a very important pagoda for the people in
this area to pay respect to and worship the Buddha. This is a very revered name for the campus.
Mahamakut Buddhist University has approved to built this campus on 20th April,1992 following the
order of the authority of Mahamakut Buddhist Council Ref. No.26/1992. The campus has produced
graduate and post-graduate students to serve society. The campus moved to Wat Pahuiphra
Moo 5, Phraporm district, Nakornsithammarat province on 23rd May, 2011. It is larger than the
former location. The campus has two Academic Centers: Songha Academic Center and Suratthani
Academic Center. Nowadays Phrakhru Siridhammapirat, Asst. Prof. Dr. is the vice-rector of the campus.
This campus offers three courses for Bachelor’s degree: Buddhism, Political Science, and
Management of Buddhism Affairs. Also, the campus offers three courses for Master’s degree: Buddhist
Studies, Political Science, and Sociology.

Mahapachapati Buddhist College under Sangharat Patronage is the first college that is
independently run by its own authority. It was established by two feminist organization Thai Nun
Foundation and Woman and Gender Association led by Madam Nun Kanittha Vichianchalern,
the consultant of Thai Nun Association Under the Patronage of Her Majesty Queen. This institute
has cooperated with Mahamakut Buddhist University to provide education for women. According
to Mahamakut Buddhist University’s conference No.12/1998 on 25th November,1998, the Committee
of Mahamakut Buddhist Council agreed to accept Mahapachapati as one of the institutes under
university supervision.
In the early day of this college, it only offered Buddhist Studies course at the Woman and
Gender Association, 501/1 Moo 3, Dechatungka Road, Donmueang, Bangkok under the name
“Mahapachapati Buddhist college”. The authority of this institute planned to move the institute to
Phuluag sub-district, Pakthongchai district, Nakhonrachasima province. The land was offered by
Mr. Seree Vecho and Nun Ratree Turungkawat. Mahapachapati Buddhist College has started to
adjust the education in the year 2001. The students must be woman and nun. At the present, Phra
Kruudomtheerakhun is director of Mahapachapati Buddhist College.

Yasothorn Religious College is under the supervision of Mahamakut Buddhist University which
is itself under the supervision and jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education. Mahamakut Buddhist
University offers both Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree, including diploma from 1998 (the year
approved to be state university). Phra Ratchathammanuwat (Phra Prapatsornmuni at that time) was
the vice-rector of Roi Et campus, and he proposed to build Yasothorn Academic Center under the
supervision of Mahamakut Buddhist University, Roi Et campus. Mahamakut Buddhist University Council
was approved to build Yasothorn Academic Center on 23rd March, 1998. Phra Krusriviriyasophon was
the first director. Mahamakut Buddhist University, Roi Et campus provides education both in Bachelor’s
degree and Master’s degree, including Teaching Professional Certificate at Wat
Srithammaram, Nai-Mueang sub-district, Mueang district, Yasothorn province. It was called
“Yasothon Center”. Phra Thepsangworayan has supported this institute for every activity. Mahamakut
Buddhist University (Ref. No. 21/2007) was approved to establish this institute to be a religious
colege on 27th April, 2007. Nowadays Phramaha Cirayu Payogo, Asst. Prof. is the Director of Yasothon Religious
College. Yasothon Religious College provides education both in Bachelor’s degree and Master’s
degree. For Bachelor’s degree, it offers 5 subjects: Political Science, Early Childhood, Primary Education,
Thai language Teaching, and English Teaching. For Master’s degree, Yasothon Religious College offers
3 subjects: Buddhism and philosophy, Educational Administration, and Political Science.

Kalasin Religious College changed its status from Kalasin Academic Center to be a
Religious College in the year 2007. It was an academic center under supervision of Roi Et
Campus, and opened on 18 May, 2011. It is located in Wat Prachaniyom. This college has
been supported by Phra Thepsaramethee, the abbot and Kalasin Ecclesiastical Governor
(Dhammayutti). It is very well known to the people of Kalasin province and nearby
provinces. In the present, Phra Krusutheewarasan, Dr. is the Director of Kalasin Religious College.
It provides education in 4 subjects: Political Science, Teaching in Buddhism, Thai Language
Teaching, English Teaching, and Early Childhood.

Mahamakut Buddhist University, Demonstration school is located at 159 Moo 6 (Loei
Leelawadee Resort) Phongsoong sub-district, Dansai district Loei province. Madam Sukanya Trisawat
offered the land to the university to build a school for Buddhist novices and monks on 9th May,
2010. At the beginning, Phra Thammapundit and Phra Ratchakawi were the main support to
establish this school. Nowadays there are 91 novices from various family status coming to study.
Now there are 2 buildings in this school, and those are supported by Madam Sukanya Trisawat.
