EDITOR'S NOTES
In today’s civilization, it seems practically impossible to take a vacation because we’re always hooked
into a broad array of technologies and obliged to keep up with the quick pace in which the world
evolves. How does one decide where to go with the unlimited variety of places and experiences
available when one does find the opportunity to disconnect and take a break?
What considerations are taken into account when choosing a travel destination? Some people just
like the pure pampering and relaxation. Others look for excitement and cultural encounters to satisfy
their curiosity about various lifestyles. Others also simply wish to leave their homes as soon as they
can.
In this edition of TourIsla Magazine, we explore some top islands in the Philippines. A mixture of
history, cultural occurrences, adventures, getaways, itineraries, and other travel-related information
has been compiled. The settings range from placid tropical islands to towns, and everything in-

Travel pushes us outside of our comfort zones and encourages us to explore, taste, and experience
new things. It continuously tests our ability not only to adapt to and explore new environments, but
also to interact with other people, welcome new experiences as they arise, and share them with
friends and loved ones. While we are currently restoring to our previous routine and we are still in an
environment where safety is our top priority, why not just plan first and explore with this magazine of
ours so that you'll be ready?
If you've been anticipating a trip but have put it off for a while, don't worry; we'll guide you to the

It is believed that the celebration started with
the local legend about a childless couple who
wished for a child from a lanzones tree fairy.
The fairy granted them a healthy baby boy, but
the couple forgot to thank her. One day, a
suspicious-looking woman approached their
child while he was playing. The boy suddenly
fell unconscious. His parents thought that it
was the lanzones fairy who had enchanted the
boy. The couple decided to perform a ritual to
appease the fairy, and, sure enough, the child
became well again. The following year, the
couple invited the neighboring barrio to
