Monday

In the early morning, I woke up, brushed my teeth and had a quick
breakfast before I went to nervously wait at the bus stop. I felt
worried that I might not be dressed properly or might not have the
correct books. As I quickly got on the bus, I saw a lot of new
faces. Some of the students had yellow hair with ribbons and some
had short brown curly hair, everyone looked so different.

After a long ride, we finally arrived at the
school. I got off the bus and walked towards
the big school gate. There were so many witches
and wizards. They were all wearing long black
robes ---but I was wearing a purple dress with a
bunch of candies on it. I immediately became
uncomfortable. It seemed like everyone was
staring at me and whispering. I walked inside the school to my first
class - Color Potions. Before starting the lesson, the teacher, Mrs.
Peddle asked me to introduce myself in front of the class. I was so
frightened. I slowly walked to the front of the classroom and said
in a nervous tone, “My name is E..E..Ella Witch. I am from
C..C..Candy Village.” Everyone looked at me bewildered and I
quickly returned to my seat.

Mrs. Peddle began to talk about making colorful potions and gave
us instructions on how we can make different color potions. Then
she gave each of us a basket full of colorful flowers to use for our
potions.

I heated up my pot and put the blue flowers in along with some
honey. All of the sudden, a piece of candy from my hair fell into
the pot and quickly melted before I could get it out. Oh I hoped my
color changing potion was still OK.

A few minutes later, everyone had finished making their
potions. Miss Peddle then told us to find an object to test the
potion. I took out a white hard candy from my pocket and put a
few drops of my potion on it. The hard candy turned to a light
rainbow color. I was so relieved that I succeeded at my first task
but suddenly my candy started to make a

rumbling noise. KABOOM!!! It exploded and

candy flew all over the classroom ---Miss Peddle
and my classmates were all covered in colorful
candy goo! What a horrible day!!!

Tuesday

It’s the second day of school – I hoped that it will be better than
yesterday. I started the day as usual. My first class for the day was
Witch’s Etiquette. This time Miss Peddle wasn’t our teacher but
Miss Rock – she had short brown hair, big dark eyes and a frowny
face. She scolded me the minute I walked into the room for not
wearing the traditional long black robe. I couldn’t have been more
embarrassed! She then instructed the class that we should NEVER
play with our broomsticks, that they are not for fun!

Just after Miss Rock finished her lecture, Polly
came rushing into the classroom to come play with
me. Miss Rock’s face turned dark red and smoke
started coming from her head. She yelled, “NO
BROOMSTICKS IN THE CLASSROOM!” as she
grabbed Polly and put her inside a locker. She then
turned to the class and asked, “Whose broomstick
was that?!” I was too shocked and scared to say anything. She went
on yelling at the class, “As a punishment, all of you will have extra
homework for today!” Everyone just sat there with their jaws wide
open. Then they began to moan and mutter they will find out whose
broomstick that was.

What another horrible day! Will school always be like this???

Wednesday

It’s Wednesday – After I woke up, I checked my learning schedule
and I saw today I have P.E. lesson. My favorite!!!

I quickly changed into my sports uniform and ran to the school bus.
When I arrived at school, I was confused. None of the students
were wearing their sports uniform. Then a teacher walked up to me
and whispered in my ear, “Its Wednesday, we have P.E. lessons on
Fridays.”

My face turned into an apple. I thought, “Here we go again, I must
have looked at the wrong day.”

Later, I was walking along the hall when I accidently bumped into a
girl with long blond hair and knocked all her books on the floor. I

felt so bad and quickly helped her pick up all her
things. She was so kind and thanked me with a
bright smile and told me her name was Jane. I
got such a warm feeling ---finally I met someone
who is friendly. “Maybe my day will get better,” I
thought to myself.

During lunch time I saw that girl again. She was looking for a place
to sitdown and eat her lunch. I waved my hand and shouted, “Come
here and sit with me!” She sat next to me and we had a little chat.

She told me that she wasn’t a witch but a vampire! It was my first
time to meet a vampire. I was so excited that I accidently spilt all
my orange juice on my white shirt.

“Oh dear, you better change your shirt,” Jane said. We both laughed
cheerfully.

The bell rang – it was time for Spell Class. The most
important class for all the students at Intelligent
Witch School. I stepped into the classroom and saw
a teacher with crazy rainbow hair and a big witch’s
hat covered in stars. I took a seat with Jane. The
teacher said her name was Miss. Doodle and began to
talk about magic spells. I thought to myself in a
proud way, “Yeah! This will be an easy class! I have been casting
spells almost everyday since I was a toddler.”

After the teacher instructed us on how to cast a spell, she told us
to create a spell using our minds. “I’ve done this more time than
anyone here,” I said to myself with confidence. I started to cast the
spell to make my book fly. “Bibe lib a bi libo,” I was so excited that I
lost my direction and my spell was casted onto the ABC magnets

on the blackboard. The ABCs started to grow big and eyes
and teeth appeared. They became nerdy monsters eating
books and chalks. The teacher screamed for help.
Suddenly Mrs. Rock rushed in and snapped her fingers – in the

blink of an eye, everything turned back to normal. Mrs. Rock
shouted, “Who made this MESS!!!” All the students pointed at me!
Mrs. Rock said sternly, “As a punishment all of you will need to
write “I will not make a mess in class” one hundred times and hand in
tomorrow.” All the students moaned and stared at me! What a lovely
ending for Wednesday!

Thursday

Thursday! The week is almost over! Today after school, I am
allowed to play with my friends in Candy Village. I can’t wait to see
all my friends! Also there will be a cooking competition at lunch. I
already know that I will win the shiny medal because I cook the
yummiest food for my friends in Candy Village all the
time. I happily ran to school and signed in my name
on the competition list. Then I walked slowly to the
boring Math class. The new Math teacher, Miss
Google, was very weird looking. She was wearing a pair of big googly
glasses with thick lenses and had short dark hair. I was already so
bored when she started the lesson that I began to play with my
sweet delicious hair. Suddenly, as I was twirling my hair a piece of
candy popped out, hit Miss. Google’s forehead and bounced onto
her desk. Miss. Google picked up the candy, looked at it and tasted
it. “Yummy,” she said. Without any concerns, she went back to the
lesson. I was so relieved that she didn’t know that the candy came
from me!!!

Finally, lunchtime!!! As I entered the canteen, I saw three teachers
sitting on chairs in the back of the room. Some students were
already getting ready for the Cooking Competition. When the clock
struck twelve thirty, one of the teachers stood up and explained,
“The category of this competition is Desserts!”

I thought to myself, “The medal is already mine!!” The teacher then
shouted, “The competition starts now.”

I took out a big pot from the drawer and dropped all the candies
from my hair inside. I pulled a few strands of my hair and added
them to the pot. Then I turned on the burner and watched as they
melted into a smooth creamy light pink mixture. I poured it into a
heart shaped mold and let it cool down for five minutes. When it
was ready, I put the pink heart shaped pudding onto a clean white
plate and sprinkled some white cotton candy flavored powder on
top. For the finishing touch, I added a super delicious magical
blood red colored raspberry.

I was the first one to finish! Once all the other participants had
finished their dishes, we placed them on a table. The teachers got
up and walked over to the table, they closely inspected each dish
before taking a bite. Miss Rock walked over to my pudding, picked
up a spoon and slowly put a bite in her mouth. She put down the
spoon and walked away without showing a hint of a reaction on her
stone face. I was starting to feel nervous. After the teachers
tested all the desserts, they sat down and scribbled a lot of notes
and passed them around. Miss. Rock then stood up and said they
had a winner. I took a deep breath and crossed my fingers, hoping
that it was me. Another teacher stood up and shouted, “This year’s
winner of the dessert competition is……….Ella”

I jumped up and down in excitement and the teachers handed
me a beautiful golden cupcake trophy. Finally something good
happened to me!!

After school, Polly and I flew to Candy Village and I shared my
exciting news with all my friends. Everyone congratulated me and
then we spent the rest of the afternoon playing video games and
having snacks. What a fantastic day!!

Friday

Friday!! It is finally the last day week. I have been so looking
forward to the weekend and am excited to have some time for fun
tomorrow. Yet when I got to school and started walking through
the school hall I noticed all the students were looking very serious,
some were even reading their text books while walking. When I
stepped into my classroom I was shocked to see everyone studying.
I quickly went over to Jane and whispered in her ear, “Is today the
big exam?” She nodded her head and continued studying. My heart
started to beat rapidly as I realized I had not studied for the exam.
I sat at my desk, took out my books from my schoolbag and tried to
absorb as much information as I could.

A few minutes later, a teacher walked in with a stack of papers. All
the students immediately put away their textbooks and patiently
waited for the exam with a pencil in their hand. My heart started
pounding faster, my hands were sweating and my legs were shaking.
When I received the paper, I wrote my name at the top. Then the
teacher pressed the timer and all the pupils dropped their head
down and began writing like crazy. I flipped over the paper – there
were fifty questions!! And only thirty minutes to complete the exam.
On top of that, it was my worst subject Mathematics!! I took a
deep breath and tried to think as hard as I could. I finally
completed the first ten questions when I looked up and saw there
were only five minutes left. My hands were shaking as I scribbled
down my equations, then I heard the timer going off. All the

students dropped their pencils and handed in their papers. I
reluctantly pass in my work.

I went out to the playground for recess where I saw Jane. She
asked me cheerfully, “How did you do on the exam?” I shook my
head and answered, “It was …. Horrible! I didn’t study yesterday as I
forgot about the exam.” Jane gave me a big hug and then offered
me a chocolate bar to cheer me up. The chocolate was very tasty
but I was still worried about my results. The bell rang – recess was
over, time for P.E.

In P.E., the teacher told us we were having bouncy ball races. I sat
on a giant pink bouncy ball, tightly gripped the handle and began
bouncing as fast as I could. It was so much fun that I forgot about
my worries. When PE was over we had to go back to the classroom.
Miss Rock was standing at the front of the room. She was holding
a stack of marked papers. I started sweating again when I heard
Miss. Rock should out my name. “Ella Witch!” she screeched. I
stood up and crossed my fingers hoping that at least I didn’t fail.
Miss Rock continued, “You did great on the first ten questions but
because you didn’t answer the other forty questions you failed the
exam. As a punishment, you will have to clean the whole basketball
court.” I stood there with my jaw wide open trying my best to hold
back my tears.

After school, I went to the basketball court, grabbed a bucket,
filled it with soap and water and started scrubbing the walls. I had
cleaned half of the basketball court and was very tired when Jane

came in to help me finish cleaning. She totally cheered me up -- we
had so much fun cleaning the rest of the court together. I am so
happy I met Jane -- she will always be one of my very best friends!

The Weekend

Finally the weekend! It feels like I’ve been waiting forever for the
weekend to arrive. I woke up in the morning and made pancakes for
breakfast. It was scrumptious. Then I left home to go to the
cinema to watch Finding Dori. It was so very touching and funny, I
really enjoyed it. After watching the film, I met up with Jane near
the popcorn shop where we binged ate a ton of popcorn --caramel,
cheese, chocolate and so many more different flavors! It was all so
delicious. When we finished eating our popcorn, we decided to go
to the biggest amusement park in Witch’s World. We rode all the
exciting rides and won a bunch of prizes. Jane got a huge teddy
bear and I got a giant rainbow dragon balloon. We had so much fun!

In the afternoon, I went to a super yummy buffet lunch with Jane.
We ate cheese n’ lobsters, a variety of sushi and dumplings and for
dessert we had a bunch of ice cream and cheesecakes. When we
finished, I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my stomach like someone
punched me. I rushed to the bathroom and stayed there for almost
a half hour before I felt better!

In the evening, we went underwater night fishing. We blew giant
bubbles with our magic potion and put them around the top half of
our bodies so we could breathe underwater. We dove into the
water and headed down into the sea. As we swam we saw some
beautiful corals. They were so stunning. We continued to swim
down deeper and passed through a beautiful bloom of jellyfish. We
tried to be careful not to get stung but one of the jellyfish

tentacles brushed against Jane’s leg. She screamed in
pain. I quickly popped a healing potion into Jane’s
bubble and she rapidly drank it – in an instant her leg
was healed. I was relieved that it was not a deadly
jellyfish.

We continued going down deeper when out of
nowhere we saw a strange monster looking creature with long arms
and fingers. Its face was human shape but it didn’t have any eyes, it
had a long sharp tail and a big creepy smile. Jane whispered to me,
“I’ve read about this creature. It’s called ‘The Happy Smile’. It only
attacks when you are not smiling or make a sound. Don’t touch its
tail – it’s very poisonous. We slowly swam by the creature with the
biggest fake smile we could make – being sure to show our bright
teeth. As soon as we got away, we immediately swam back up to the
surface. We were so terrified but overall we had an enjoyable night
swimming in the ocean although we didn’t get to catch a fish. We
agreed to go back next month.
