Dear Friends,
It’s hard for me to believe that this year will mark the 9th anniversary of a little
event we originally held in the old Sip & Twirl and the dinner at my home on the
bay.
On June 8, 2019 will be celebrating “Women’s Pride In The Pines” and the
50th year anniversary of the Stonewall Rebellion. In the nine years of our little
event, we have raised money to support The Center, SAGE, The Hetrick-Martin
Institute, Gilda’s Club, Trinity Place Shelter, Pines Care Center, The Pines
Foundation, Stonewall Foundation, The Aqua Water Project, Callen- Lorde and
Family Equality Council.
This year we are honored to support The Ali Forney Center, whose mission is
to protect LGBTQ youth from the harms of homelessness and empower them with
the tools needed to live independently. The organization has grown to become
the largest agency dedicated to LGBTQ homeless youths in the country-assisting
nearly 1,400 youth per year through a 24-hour Drop-In Center which provided
over 177,000 meals in 2018. In addition, they provide clothes, medical and
mental health services through an on-site clinic, and offer a scattered site housing
program, and have helped thousands of kids get into schools and find jobs. In this
period of social and economic uncertainty, we need you support more than ever!
We have a wonderful event planned again this year –The Dance- open wine and
vodka bars, dancing, and silent auction during the day. At our V.I.P. Cocktail Party
enjoy a beautiful sunset on the bay. The V.I.P. Buffet Dinner & Show will have the
hilarious Judy Gold. More entertainment will be announced soon.
