Important Policies & Procedures 2018-2019
Attendance~ Attendance is taken each class period every day. Each time a student is not in
class or is tardy by more than 10 minutes, it counts as an absence for that class. Parents must
provide a written note or doctor’s excuse for each absence.
Texas Public Attendance Law: Once a student has missed 10 days, all future absences will
be unexcused unless accompanied by a doctor’s note. Students will have 3 days to bring a doc-
tor’s note to excuse the absence. After that, the absence will remain unexcused. 3 absences in
a four week period will generate a note and a warning about truancy; 10 absences in a 6
month period will require us to file charges for failure to attend school or for parent contributing
to non-attendance. It is the parent’s responsibility to monitor their child’s attendance and re-
quire the student to attend school.
Cell Phones~ The school district policy states that students are not allowed to use cell phones or
have them on during the school day except at teacher discretion. (The school day begins when
the student arrives at school and ends at 3:30.) Students may use the campus phones if they
need to contact parents. If a student is caught with a cell phone out or if it rings, buzzes, or re-
ceives a signal during the school day, it will be confiscated and brought to the office. There is a
$15 fee to receive the phone back at the end of the day. CFC is not responsible for lost
or stolen cell phones.
Contacting Teachers~ You may call the front office at any time (659-3576 ext. 100) and we
can connect you to teacher’s voice mail throughout the day. You can also contact teachers via e-
mail.
Deliveries~ will NOT be accepted for students (flowers or lunches)
Drinks & Food~ Students will not be allowed to consume food or drinks in the school buildings.
Food or drinks that are brought for lunch must stay in its container or backpack until their lunch
period. Water fountains are available for drinks throughout the day. Due to food allergies and re-
strictions, parents may NOT drop off lunches unless they stay to give to student
personally. Parents who wish to eat lunch with their children need to bring a photo ID and ob-
tain a visitor’s pass. NO lunches may be brought on testing days.
Grades~ Teachers will update grades by each Wednesday.
I.D.s~ Students will be required to have a photo ID and keep it with them for identification in the
cafeteria, library, at sports events, and more. We will take pictures for IDs in class the first week
of school. If a student loses their ID, there is a $5 fee.
iPods/ MP3/ Electronic Devices~ We will allow students to bring electronic devices to CFC, if
a student is found using an electronic device without teacher approval, it will be taken up until the
end of the following school day. CFC is not responsible for lost or stolen devices.
Tutorials~ Tutorials are available in all 4 core subject areas.
Visitors~ Must check in at the front office with their driver’s license. Thank you!
VOE ~Verification of Enrollment ~is needed to obtain a drivers permit. Notice is needed and
the office will send home with student. Students are not permitted to drive to school.
